No, you didn’t mishear. He’s also the guy that overlooked a journalist from a US newspaper being executed and dismembered because of a really big (albeit BS) arms deal.
Among active-duty service members surveyed in the poll, 41 percent said they would vote for Biden, the Democratic nominee, if the election was held today. Only 37 percent said they plan to vote to re-elect Trump.
As a caveat, from the polling I’ve seen, my impression is that Veterans are more loyal to Trump that active enlisted men, probably the active enlisted are younger, and Trumps screw ups have a more direct impact on them. But still it doesn’t look good. Also it should be pointed out that this poll took place before the Atlantic article came out, so the polls today would probably be even worse for Trump.
Hmm. I’ve got a few T-shirts with US Army insignia over the left breast-- where there’d be a pocket, if they had a pocket. The recruiter always has them to give away to potential recruits, and if I stop by to chat, they’ll usually give me one. It’s good advertising to have people walking around wearing them-- especially vets. I think I’ll take one, and write “I’m a sucker and a loser!” on it, really big.
