Donald Trump gets hero's welcome at Army/Navy football game.

Our troops just love the winner.

Meanwhile, Rolling Stone magazine (notable for having been recently found guilty of defamation and ordered to pay $3 million in damages to the victim of its fake news story about rape on University of Virginia campus) reports that Trumps’ presidency is shaping up to be American tragedy.

I fail to understand how the military supports him.

He demonstrated his disdain for POWs.

He tried to keep the money from a fundraiser.

He was gifted a Purple Heart and was pleased he didn’t need to earn it.

He compared his sleeping with lots of women and having financial success with serving in Vietnam.

He called the military weak.

He expects the military to commit war crimes on his orders.

ETA: His treatment of the Khan family.

Well, for starters the Rolling Stones does link first to what The Hill is reporting about the one that is putting ideas into the brain of Trump, no record of that source being involved in a defamation lawsuit:

http://thehill.com/blogs/ballot-box/presidential-races/293532-bannons-ex-wife-he-didnt-want-the-girls-going-to-school

Of course the Rolling Stone article does cite many other sources so you are indeed using the poisoned well fallacy as a debate tactic.

Those are theoretical reasons why military folks might not support him, not actual data about how many did. You know that, right?

No wonder the Democrats are still wondering why they lost. Why bother with data when you already know the answer…

I think what he was getting at was that it’s absolutely insane for anyone in the military to support someone with such a cavalier attitude towards the sacrifices they make. Which it is.

December 2016 join date, folks.

And now we have another solid, respectable and unbiased source for news, Bizpac Review. And the author of the article has such an impressive resume:

Can’t wait to read such truthiness as “Sharp YouTube videos demolish progressive ideology, and the left isn’t happy!”

Yes, I know he thinks that. But note that he said “how” not “why”. The OP was showing an example of “how”, so that was a strange retort.

Yep! He doesn’t realize that his two statements are NOT mutually exclusive.

They were told to. He’s their boss. They have no choice.

I can pretty much guaranty you that each of them was think something involving “lying, asshole, mutant life form” as they “supported” him.

I honestly think the entire US should refrain from standing for the National Anthem while he’s POTUS. I think the shit fest that followed on twitter would be hilarious.

It’s insane for absolutely anyone to support Trump, we don’t have to pick out specific groups when it comes to him.

Ahem…

I never said they didn’t, I said I don’t understand the support.

He showed utter contempt for what the military stands for and it’s personnel.

I can pretty much guarantee you that you are wrong.

OK. I don’t think the way I read your post was particularly unusual, but I can see that it needn’t be read that way.

He showed utter contempt for all his voters. He just has that gift of telling you that he doesn’t have contempt for you, just those other idiots to your left and to your right.

While I agree it doesn’t make any sense, this is in fact the world we live in now.

Actually, I’m going to report this as advertising. There’s nothing wrong with being right-wing per se but a new poster with a new link? It’s damn suspicious to me.

So the military leans Republican. Big whoop. Why are their opinions worth any more than teachers or nurses? Answer: they aren’t.

Rant? Gloating? I can’t tell what the topic is but it’s not Elections. Moving to Pit.

[/ moderating]

I honestly don’t know why we worship veterans so much and I don’t think their opinions should be more valued than others in society.
As to why they can support him so? The majority of the military is the same demographic as other poor people who vote Republican.

Yep, it’s time not to feed this idiot troll. Instead, let’s start a ban countdown. I pick December 20th.
