Hahahaha. While I’m sure that Politifact gives you a warm, fuzzy feeling about political speeches, it’s the FBI who are investigating ol’ Hillary’s actions, possible crimes, cover ups, and lies. If I remember correctly, Politifact can’t send someone to prison.
Since ol’ Hillary’s poll numbers appear to be dropping so close to the election, how are you going to convince the independent voters that ol’ Hillary is worth the effort of actually going to the voting booth? Your promise that she won’t lie anymore probably doesn’t carry much weight with her intended constituency.
He’s told us the truth all along. He tells us that he is a racist, misogynistic user, that will do anything as long as it benefits him. When someone shows you who they are, it’s our job to see it.
Sadly, many people in the USA look up to this type of asshole, and wish they could be just as big as an asshole as he is.
The polling is mixed on this, but the gist is that the public basically views both candidates as not being honest and trustworthy. Here, for example, is a NH poll:
And the FBI investigations have found nothing. Just like the multiple Congressional investigations.
But you’re missing the point.
We’re talking about honesty. Politifact has gathered data, evaluated the data, and found the number of statements each candidate has made that are true, false, or somewhere in between.
Show me your data. You can’t just say, ‘Well, I don’t have any actual data to back me up, but Clinton’s a bigger liar because my messiah tells me she is. And he wouldn’t lie!’ I mean, that’s the whole point. Your Führer does lie. He lies more than Clinton. And yet you support him.
The polling is mixed. People who have not done research have a feeling about one candidate or the other. When statements are researched to find out whether they’re true or not, that’s not a ‘feeling’. That’s factual evidence.
Trump is a bombastic ass with a poor command of facts. You don’t need a ‘people to do research’ to tell you that he makes loads of misstatements in his campaign speeches and interviews.
However IMO the reason Clinton is significantly further underwater than Trump on ‘honest and trustworthy’ v the opposite is not lack of research or vague feeling, or not just that. It’s the voters’ judgement that she’s dishonest mainly in other aspects than making factually incorrect statements about issues. The negative margin I believe comes out of her false or misleading statements about her own behavior, and just basic stuff like her and Bill’s fortune being mainly earned by what many people think is influence peddling.
Some of Trump’s lies are in the same category, such as saying the sexual misconduct allegations against him have been ‘mainly debunked’ or claiming he can’t release his tax returns because they are under audit. But the bulk of a long list of Trump misstatements, easy to assemble, would be factual errors related to policies. And also while many would clearly be wrong, some element of ‘fact checking’ is opinion based*.
Voters weight different kinds of misstatements differently in making their judgments who is more dishonest and untrustworthy between Clinton and Trump. That’s subjective, you’re right. Where I disagree is the implication there’s any objective answer.
*eg. factcheck.org judged Trump’s statement that ‘we don’t know’ if Russia(n state agency) is behind the wikileaks hack as false, giving as evidence the joint statement of DHS and DNI they are ‘confident’ it’s Russian state actors. But the intel community was also confident for purposes of public statements that Saddam had WMD’s. I accept Russian state involvement as likely in those hacks but would not say it’s ‘dishonest’ to be skeptical about it. There’s a lot of this in ‘fact checking’. My insurance company was one of the larger players that pulled out of offering insurance through the exchanges. Next year my premiums will drop 5-8%. The insurance companies offered by my employer that did not drop out will all see rates the same or slight increases.
Hahahaha. Which must be why the FBI has reopened the investigation into ol’ Hillary’s skullduggery.
skulduggery
noun also skullduggery uk /ˌskʌlˈdʌɡ.ər.i/ us /-ɚ-/
secret and dishonest behavior
Ol’ Hillary’s emails - The gift that keeps on giving.
Tell it to the FBI. And to the NYPD. The NYPD has been investigating Anthony “C My” Weiner and apparently has found a plethora of Team Hillary’s emails. Did ol’ Hillary subscribe to Weiner’s wiener pics, or did Mrs. Weiner cc her hubby as a backup in case someone took a hammer to ol’ Hillary’s private server? Either way, the FBI would have looked bad if the NYPD had made this public before the FBI admitted they had to reopen the investigation into Team Hillary’s underhanded, and probably illegal, activity.
Now it’s up to the voters to decide if it’s worthwhile to go to the voting booth to vote for ol’ lying Hillary.
Cite that anything was re-opened? You won’t find one because the investigation was never closed. “Reopened” is just more right-wing lies, but you know that.
Let’s talk about the debt. Obama didn’t do shit about the debt. Congress sets the revenue, Congress sets the spending. It’s Bush’s irresponsible tax cuts and Bush’s two needless wars that blew up the debt. Are you under the impression that the president is solely responsible for expenditures exceeding revenues? Wherever from?
The ACA? The thing responsible for the lowest uninsured rate ever? The one that prevents insurers from throwing those with pre-existing conditions under the bus?
Cash for clunkers wasn’t that bad an idea. Provide stimulus for the auto industry, reduce carbon emissions by getting old inefficient cars off the road- I thought it worked well. Didn’t you get offered enough for your clunker?
Laughingstock around the world? Bush was universally reviled around the world, as is Trump. Obama is well liked by virtually every foreign leader and is hugely popular with non-Americans.
The fact that the debt grew more proportionally under Reagan and Bush has been pointed out to him ad infinitum. He either does not understand simple figures, or deliberately ignores them.
Question - Are you actually “Super”? Are you a “dude”? Do I care why you chose to use the words that you use?
It’s my choice, not yours, to express my familiarity with ol’ Hillary by referring to her as ol’ Hillary.
*old
(ōld)
adj. old·er, old·est
often ol’ (ōl)
a. Used as an intensive: Come back any old time. Don’t give me any ol’ excuse.
b. Used to express affection or familiarity: good ol’ Sam.*
You’d have as much luck convincing an Ohio State fan of why they should root for Michigan. And that’s all this is for people like Clotahump-- “My team’s better than your team,” “I root for this team no matter what,” and “Your team sucks.”
*FBI Reopens Investigation Into Hillary Clinton’s Email Server
by Sam Frizell October 28, 2016, 1:50 PM EDT
The FBI is reopening the investigation into Hillary Clinton‘s use of a private email server, the bureau’s director said in a letter to lawmakers on Friday, a surprise twist in a turbulent campaign just 11 days before election day.
In a note to congressional committee chairs, FBI director James Comey said that the FBI had discovered additional emails relevant to the investigation into Clinton’s and that agents were examining the emails to determine whether they contain classified information.
“In connection with an unrelated case, the FBI has learned of the existence of emails that appear to be pertinent to the investigation,” said Comey. “I am writing to inform you that the investigative team briefed me on this yesterday, and I agreed that the FBI should take appropriate investigative steps designed to allow investigators to review these emails to determine whether they contain classified information, as well as to assess their importance to our investigation.”*
Just to clarify, so there isn’t any misunderstanding -
*reopen
verb us /riˈoʊ·pən/
to open something again after it has been closed for a period of time:
Restaurant and hotel owners were wondering when they could reopen.
He said he would reopen the road during morning and evening rush hours.
If a process or discussion reopens, it begins again after it has stopped for a period of time:
This may present an opportunity to reopen peace talks.*
