amen!
Trump has so many arguably bad things going on, it makes it hard to say which aspects put him only (at times and perhaps eventually) slightly behind Clinton. Plausible explanations run the gamut from saying a good guy conventional conservative GOP’er would be in almost the same spot, perhaps even worse (ie macro factors like the economy, Obama rating, demographics in pres elections etc),to focusing on any one of Trump’s flaws and saying it alone is the dominant reason he’s down rather than up several points.
I can only give my personal impression that Trump’s comprehensive ignorance and arrested emotional development are the deal breakers for me. I can imagine (and might have to endure in the future) a GOP candidate who is a statist-oriented populist nationalist like Trump (rather than a conservative as it’s generally been understood in Buckley/Reagan type terms), a jerk like Trump, but not an amazingly ignorant emotionally stunted adolescent like Trump. I would would probably vote unhappily for that candidate over Clinton which I can’t in case of the actual Trump.
I’m assuming the past sexual misconduct falls more under arrested development than bad buy alpha, but it wouldn’t be an absolute deal breaker anyway. I know Bill Clinton isn’t on the ballot this time but many of the left old enough did support him in the face of plausible allegations up to forcible rape. The reason given was ‘his policies’ compared to very bad perceived polices on the other side (and GOP hypocrisy). Like I said it’s hypothetical for me since I decided I couldn’t vote for Trump long before the Access Hollywood tape, but I still think there’s a hypocrisy problem for Democrats who supported WJC trying to say it’s moral imperative not to support somebody like that regardless of all other circumstances. It doesn’t mean anybody approves the conduct itself, either case.
And does he, uh, hug himself a lot? Maybe that US Flag just got in between him and the love of his life… wait, it did.
Thanks for not being a petty whiny bitch.
Mr “Real New York” indeed.
He says and does outrageous things that polite society finds unacceptable but he doesn’t have consequences due to his status; his followers seem to think that’s admirable and they would like to do the same things and not suffer consequences. They hope he’ll share that benefit w/ them, but of course he wouldn’t even if he could. Other people are first and foremost dollar signs to him, be they his blood or a stranger who donates to his fake charity.
Outstanding, Sir.
Thank you!
And even a week later, my meat-eating plant friend, I am still a woman.
I beg your pardon. It must be that a user name that is a play on words of a weapon, nunchaku, must be a male.
Again, my apologies.
Carnivorous plants eat bugs, not meat. :dubious:
That’s funny you came to that conclusion. It’s a play on North Charleston being nicknamed North Chuck and my friends calling themselves North Chuckers when I lived there.
The only person I know who has nunchaku is my friend Angie, a tiny woman and a cop’s wife who trained in them for several years.
Bugs aren’t made of plant material, are they?
No, but it is a common practice to place hamburger meat in the leaf traps of Venus flytraps, Dionaea muscipula, and it causes the leaf to rot and, of course, die.
Are bugs kosher?
Many seem to have feet that end in a two “toed” structure. So I’d say they’re cloven-hoofed. So no; not kosher.
John the Baptist are locusts and honey.
:dubious:
Because many of his followers are looked down on by “polite society”. Often with good reason, as many of their positions are ignorant and racist.
To me, Trump comes across as a spoiled narcissistic jerk who basically had everything handed to him and used his wealth to bully others around in his business dealings. His MO is basically to pump himself and his ventures up with a lot of bluster and bullshit and if he doesn’t get his way, he either withholds payment or threatens expensive nuisance litigation.
That is appealing to a certain type of individual who only respects “strength” and simplicity and disdains nuanced approaches to complex solution.
But as we can see, with any bully, when things do go his way, he’s the first to cry “Unfair! The system’s rigged against me!”
As it should be.
Og be praised, yes! Indeed, the system SHOULD filter out noxious, destructive elements. That the loudest segment don’t get *absolutely whatever *they want is not to be considered a bug but a feature.
