Trump indicted

A small, interesting note that may or not be connected: Allen Weisselberg has changed lawyers. Trump still pays for the new guy so it may not mean anything.

Judges don’t like to impede freedom of speech and I don’t see how it becomes a contempt of court charge, because there has to be a judge’s order to violate before the court can find contempt.

However, Trump is making it much more likely that there will be at least a partial gag order imposed by the judge.

Drop them off in the middle of The Villages.

Heh.

What credibility? Those on the left already know that he has none, and those on the right will only believe the media outlets that tell them what they want to beleive.

What politicians do and what they are held accountable for has a vast canyon in between now.

Maybe. But if I’m his opponent (in the presidential race next year of the next Florida gubernatorial race), I’m running Willie Horton-style ads featuring the face of every alleged felon who escaped prosecution by taking a bus out of state.

You mean like all the ‘criminal’ migrants DeSantis shipped to blue states? His supporters ate that shit up. If we started exporting actual criminals they’d eat that up too.

Now here’s a question I had: Since this is a New York court, could they restrict him to staying in New York as a condition of his release? I mean, he could flee the country any time he wanted, he’s got the resources. Would they be able to make a case that they need to keep him close at hand because of this?

Making him live at Trump Towers in NYC for the duration wouldn’t be a hardship by any reasonable definition of the word, but it would certainly piss him off.

Yes they could. I wouldn’t expect that they will, however.

Except these would be people who left to escape justice. RW folks don’t like criminals going unpunished.

Doesn’t matter – nothing like this is going to happen.

Why aren’t the MAGAts mad at the grand jury? They’re the ones who indicted him. Bragg just presented the evidence (aiui).

Especially when it would have been so easy to make it scan…

So bring on your indictments, your subpoenas and your bogus trials,
I’ll fight them all with fervor and with cunning and with legal wiles,

And the last two lines could have been:

And no one can convict me, I’m resplendent in my innocence
I am the very model of a persecuted defendant!

Monty Python’s take.

As long as they personally don’t experience any pain or inconvenience, the RWNJs would rather we libs be punished by the criminals, than the criminals be punished by the law.

It isn’t even close.

Is Trump’s Secret Service detail obligated to protect him from being arrested, or do they just step aside and follow him to the police station? If he decides to go hide somewhere will they immediately tell their superiors and, if so, will those superiors pass the word along ASAP?

CNN reported that they are cooperating with the NYPD to protect him on the way to and at the courthouse? Where ever NY indicates people.

I think you have to diss the judge to his face for that.

They don’t like black and brown people going unpunished.

There are untold numbers of white people who should be punished that they will defend to the death. We know that because there are untold numbers of white people that have been punished that they are defending to the death.

See 1/6 prison choir.

TheDailyShow twitter feed had perhaps the best one-liner on this.

Congrats to Donald Trump on finally winning a majority of votes!

Last I heard, Wait, Wait, Don’t Tell Me taped their show on Thursday evenings. It would be hysterical if this weekend’s show has no mention of Trump being indicted.

They’re MAGAs; they’re mad at everybody.

You’re making that sound like a bad thing.
