I guess the walls of that cabin will be covered with more of those Oval Office gilded gee-gaws that trump probably gets delivered directly from China.
Hey, Pam Bondi and Kash Patel both signed off on the plane deal! So what if they’ve both done business for Quatar in the past?
The difference is there weren’t dozens of Democrats sprinting to microphones to decry the prosecution and calling it a witch hunt. He got caught with his hands in the cookie jar and is now facing the consequences. Still, it’s not like he tried to overturn an election or put incompetent sycophants in important positions or deporting people with due process. As criminals go, Menendez was a piker compared to Orange Foolius.
AFAIK the only known use of “Navy One” was when GWB did his carrier-landing stunt in 2003, and the only use of an “Executive One” jet was Nixon doing a PR stunt in 1973. Though presumably those would be the applicable monikers if such a situation ever arose again.
“Army One” used to be a thing until the 70’s, when the Army got out of the presidential-transport business. Their duties devolved to Marine One.
Perhaps they could devise a blanket term to cover all options. How about There’s Always One?
A blanket term would be Coverlet One.
What if it’s a down coverlet?
There Can Be Only One?
When it flies over the White House it should be One Flying Over The Cuckoo’s Nest
Only if it flies into Newark.
Trump and his cabal of incompetent sycophants are probably far too stupid to understand the retrofitting that will be required to have this gaudy “palace” certified to actually fly as Air Force One. That’s what’s taking Boeing years to do despite the fact that the planes themselves have been fully built for years.
He wants this thing because the Orange Man-child is too impatient to wait for the new planes from Boeing. I think it would be hilarious if, once the Air Force and Secret Service bureaucracy get hold of it, Trump finds out it will be years before it’s been properly retrofitted and certified!
Good luck finding mention of this story on foxnews.com.
If Biden would’ve had this same offer, it would be the leading headline, and at least a dozen sub-headlines for as long as Hillary’s emails were up there…I think a year+.
This. Belle of the Ranch (wife of Beau of the Fifth Column, who replaced him on the channel after he suffered burnout) covered just this point in a lot of detail yesterday. 4 minute video.
Good video, thanks. What I think may happen, since Trump’s second term has developed as one of unconstrained corruption and intimidation, is that he’ll try to bully the Air Force and Secret Service into dropping most of the security requirements that exist on the real VC-25 so he can have his new toy right away, thus endangering national security as well as himself and everyone who travels with him.
He’ll get pushback, and he’ll deal with it as he always does – by firing anyone who disagrees with him.
Sounds like an opportunity for some malicious compliance, “Yes sir Mr. President, we’ll disable all the safety features, and the emergency exits have all been removed to provide you with better views. Good luck.”
That would be a shame. It would be amusing to see him sliding down the escape chute - not to mention the mad scramble among his acolytes for who goes next
No, they’ll be too busy fighting over space in the lifeboats.
I’m trying to evacuate myself …
Schumer finally does something:
Schumer’s “hold” on Trump’s nominees doesn’t stop them from getting confirmed; it simply slows the process for confirming them. The Democratic leader is denying the GOP “unanimous consent” to move them along speedily.
Way to flex, Chuck! You show them who’s boss.
