Because of a budget related government shutdown, the regular White House chefs were unavailable. So instead his staffers placed large quantities of various fast food items in the reception room. There was a photo of him standing proudly showing the piles of Big Mac sandwiches and such. At the time he owned a hotel and restaurant in Washington DC. He could have catered t he e dinner from there, at his own expense, of course. But instead he served cold congealed fast food sandwiches.

I’m sure that Trump would really prefer the even bigger Airbus A380. Qatar Airways has 8, so could easily spare one for him. Of course it’s not American made, but the White House and Fox can just rename it the Boeing A380, so no problem!
I’m sure that last bit was sarcasm, but I think it’s been plainly evident that Trump has the same lowbrow taste in food as he does in decor. He’s been photographed all too often gorging himself on a bucket of fried chicken, ordering a whole table full of fast-food hamburgers for a visiting sports team when the White House has one of the finest kitchens anywhere, and his penchant for overdone steak to the point of resembling shoe leather which he then re-hydrates with ketchup is famous. The man is a complete buffoon in every respect.
As for the “gift” from Qatar, large aircraft are peculiar things in that they can be more of a liability than an asset. Maintenance and operating costs can be enormous, and there are significant costs even if you don’t fly them. There’s a whole boneyard of basically abandoned jet airliners out in the American desert someplace. Yes, in private life Trump flies an old used 757, but only because he’s an idiot. Elon Musk, who possesses wealth that Trump can only dream about, is perfectly fine in an ordinary Gulfstream long-range business jet.
