Um, I’ve already placed Trump in a class by himself for lying, in at least two previous posts.
Based on a number of responses in this thread, the Fugs’ classic line could be restated as “I Saw Some Of The Least Impressive Minds On The Dope Transformed Into Prehensile Rectums”.
There is a difference between political spin and outright lying, and our ability to continue governing ourselves is highly dependent on our ability to distinguish between deception in all its variants.
Yes, there are examples in which Obama behaved deceptively, but you probably can’t do that job for a fucking day by being totally 100% honest. An omission is an example of a lie. A white lie is a white lie. A spin, putting the best outlook on something - that’s all attempted deception. Not all deception is wrong or bad. As the great poet once wrote, a foolish consistency is indeed the hobgoblin of little minds.
This is simply a misstatement of what happened. Not a lie, since I think you truly misunderstand.
I didn’t take offense, I don’t worship the ground Obama treads upon, and I didn’t assert he had never lied. I asked for examples. You then a) provided an example of true statements that the WaPo misunderstood an b) linked to a Politifact list of untrue statements, not lies. When the problem with your WaPo quote was pointed out, you called me lazy for not traipsing through your Politifact cite and categorizing which ones were actually lies, while making no attempt to do so yourself. Then, later, I looked through the first couple, and one was error, not lie, and the other was, if you squint right, a pretty minor lie.
So, I basically ended up where I started with this. Not that Obama is somehow unblemished by any lies at all, but that the ones I’m aware of are really, really minor, and ambiguous enough that there’s no way you’d ever get a perjury conviction if they were told under oath.
Yeah, the fact that the OP didn’t even bother with this is a pretty clear sign he had no argument and was just trolling.
I mean, I’m sure Biden’s told more than a few actual whoppers in his time, but the OP didn’t even attempt to cough up one. SAD!

So lets go to politifact and take a look at Biden’s whoppers.
There are 6 pants on fire (3% of checked statements compared to 142 and 16% for Tump.) Note also that many of these go back to his vice presidency.
We can look at them one at a time.
Trump held the bible upside down: Biden was repeating what some tweets and news reports got wrong. He should have done better fact checking but it was a minor point. Not really his fault.
Arrested with the UN ambasidor trying to see Mandela: He got stopped at the airport not arrested. So yeah this is a bit of a whopper, but to his credit he’s stopped making that claim.
Claims there is an identifiable Somali community in Delaware: There isn’t maybe he was mixing up two Aftrican countries, or mixing up Delalware with Minnesota, but he got his facts wrong. So may be a lie or may just be an error. Still not a huge deal.
When one person sneezes it goes all the way through the airplane (said during swine flu outbreak): According to the air transport association (who has a vested interest in convincing people air transport is safe ) disagree. Again it deosn’t really seem to be a lie so much as a possibly incorrect statement.
Rudy Giuliani is probably the most unqualified person to seek the presidency. More opinion than fact, also mostly just rhetoric, along with the “probably” qualifier, not much of a lie. Certainly less of one than Trump makes every day when he talks about the economy.
Trump is brain dead: Give me a break. Have the people of Politifact never heard of a phrase being used vernacularly?
So of the 6 worst “lies” told by biden, 1-2 are actual lies 2-3 are statements that he ended up being wrong about but which there is no reason to believe he knowingly lied about, and two are just standard rhetoric that only a pedantic stickler would bother fact checking.
Minor correction, the “brain dead” comment was directed at Bush in October of 2007.

The reason it caught on was that the rest of the context, his physical and facial attitudes, his lieutenants orders, reflected a perversion of spiritual values. By the time he stood there doing that, it was a kind of moral truth that he was holding upside down values. That couldn’t be debunked.
