Trump, PACs, and legal fees

I hope the RNC listens to Lara Trump and spends every penny… and more… on Trump’s legal defense and judgements. I hope they take campaign money away from every single Republican candidate, federal and state, to shovel it down the bottomless Trump well of misfortune.

At the end of the 1992 movie Sneakers, a news report announces the bankruptcy of the Republican National Committee and (not coincidentally) anonymous donations to Amnesty International, Greenpeace, and the United Negro College Fund. I’m perfectly happy if instead the RNC bankrupts itself defending Trump.

I’d imagine that Republicans leaders who care about down ballot elections will be begging donors to switch their donations to campaign committees that Trump won’t control — NRSC, NRCC, leadership PACs, etc. Anything that goes to the RNC will line Trump’s pockets one way or another.

Politico reports that Trump’s super PAC has contributed $60 million to legal fees for Trump and his associates over the past year, but may be running low.

Oh no! Time to ramp up the Fleece-A-Rube machine. Or just raid the RNC coffers.

Imagine spending that much money and this is all you get for it.

I wonder how far the hundred million or so of other people’s money that Trump has burned through thus far would go if given to people who have an actual need for it? Like how long could a Legal Aid clinic keep itself going for on a hundred million bucks?

Is the money that pays Trump’s legal fees considered income to him? I’d certainly think it should be.

It should!

And another item, from the Brennan Centre for Justice:

PAC paying Trump’s legal fees has run out of cash — with $3M in debt.
