Trump sued by Stormy Daniels over hush payment

Trump’s is busy screwing himself because he can’t keep his mouth closed. He’s trying to enforce a nondisclosure agreement that he now says he knows nothing about. :smack:

Stormy Daniels’s lawyer: Trump just increased strength of our case ‘exponentially’

From the WP:

Trump has diarrhea of the mouth. He has no filter between his brain and his mouth.

From the quote box in GreenWyvern’s post:

And that’s why it doesn’t work as an agreement between just Cohen and Stormy.

If any Democratic president had acted one tenth of the way that Trump has done, the Republicans would have been foaming at the mouth, screaming with fury, and denouncing his immorality 24/7. The fact that they are giving Trump a free pass, no matter what he says or does, shows clearly their hypocrisy, double standards, and complete lack of moral values.

My favorite Tweet on the subject: Trump fucked Cohen so hard that Cohen had to send himself a check for $130,000 so he wouldn’t talk about it.

Genius! Just the kind of shrewd thinking that made Trump what he is today! Whatever that is!

And constipation of his brain.

Her lawyer implies they know the person who threatened her in 2011.

A lady who is a DC lawyer and a blogger, not a reporter- just a person intrigued by the disaster that is Trump-, was scrolling through Trump’s FEC filings.

She notes that Trump’s sketchy lawyer, Cohen, opened the “EC, LLC” business that he used to pay off Stormy Daniels on October 17th. The contract with Daniels required that she be paid $130,000 by October 27th.

Cohen claims that he got a home equity line of credit loan (Date unknown, but there is also some evidence that Cohen doesn’t own the apartment in Trump Tower. It seems to be owned by Cohen’s wife.) and paid Daniels himself and that the money did not come from Trump or the Trump campaign. He has not provided any documents to support this claim. Cohen was also reported to have complained privately that Trump did not pay him back.

October 17- EC, LLC created.

FEC fiings:
October 17- Trump campaign paid Trump National Golf Club in DC $8,544 in “facility rental/catering” fees
October 17- Trump campaign paid Trump Int’l Hotel (there are several Int’l Hotles, which Int’l Hotel is not declared on the FEC filing) $13,431.88 for “facility rental/catering”
October 17- Trump campaign paid Trump Int’l Hotel Las Vegas $18,731.90 for travel;lodging
October 17- Trump campaign paid Trump Int’l Hotel Las Vegas $79,043.94 for travel;lodging
October 25- Trump campaign paid Trump Int’l Hotel (which hotel again not identified) $10,248 for travel;lodging

(Total: $129,999.72.)
To give Trump the benefit of the doubt:

There were other payments on the FEC filing in this timeframe- there were 8 payments declared on the FEC filing between Oct 17-25. Also, other payments at other times could also add up to $130,000.

But, the other payments in the October timeframe were “normal” or “recurring” payments according to this interested party. She says that these payments stood out because they were unusual, unusually high, and don’t agree with Trump’s travel itenerary. For example, Trump was not in Las Vegas on October 17. He was in Wisconsin on the 17th, Colorado the 18th, Las Vegas the 19th, Ohio the 20th… Florida the 25th, etc. That, and that Trump often paid for these kinds of things (rooms, catering) 2-4 months after the fact- as is shown in the FEC filings.

The debate was scheduled for Las Vegas on 19th, so maybe an “advance team” was there to prep, but it would have had to been a lot of very expensive travel/# of people/rooms to cost so much.

October 26, Cohen got an email at his Trump org email addresss that Republic bank had transferred money into the account ending “x1897”.
October 27, Cohen wired money from the Republic Bank account “x1897” to Daniel’s bank.
October 28- “Hush Agreement” between “Peggy Peterson and David Dennison” signed (and then Fed-ex’d to Cohen’s office the the Trump Tower, if I recall correctly.).
The 3 bedroom penthouse suite at the Trump Int’l Hotel Las Vegas is about $1,800 a night.

Hmmm.

Curious.

Well, of course. I’d be pissed if Trump had stiffed me 28 cents, too.

Heh.

This certainly fits with Cohen’s claim that he “facilitated” the payment:

https://www.cnn.com/2018/02/13/politics/michael-cohen-stormy-daniels-payment/index.html

So if the contract says “$130,000” and the Trump Campaign ‘creative bookkeeping’ sums up to only $129,999.72—then, sure. Cohen had to come up with that 28 cents himself, or the whole deal would have been off. That counts as ‘facilitating.’

I’m just wondering what bank would have offered Cohen a mortgage loan totaling 28 cents. (And does that include PMI?)

She started a crowd source page to raise money for her legal fees, in mid-March. People donated over $200,000 in the first 3 days. It’s over $300,000 now.

And the sideshow takes another strange twist:

http://thehill.com/blogs/blog-briefing-room/news/382238-lawyer-says-there-is-sketch-of-person-who-threatened-stormy

One thing that struck me about his statement is that they’re doing a sketch and offering a reward, but Avenatti says they’re “very close to identifying this individual”. How close can you be if you’re paying for leads and trying to generate a sketch from Daniels’ 7-year-old memories of the alleged encounter? Anyway, if she was threatened, then I hope the person who did it is found and held responsible. I just doubt that it’s likely they’ll find the person. Of course, things being the way they are, it was probably Cohen himself who threatened her, and in a few days one of the Trump sons will tweet an email chain proving that it was.

I’m hoping they want to stir things up by releasing a sketch that’s clearly Cohen in a hoodie with a crooked, pasted-on mustache.

Sketches have a depressingly low success rate. The master speaks. When 80 students from the University of Stirling, in Scotland, were each shown ten celebrity composites made by local volunteers — a total of 800 views — there were only 22 correct IDs, an accuracy rate of about 3 percent. When the students tried to match the composites with the original photographs, the accuracy rate was only 42 percent. Just imagine how bad the success rate would be when working, not from photographs, but from seven-year-old memories. This suggests to me that either a) her lawyer is bluffing, b) they already know who it is but they are hoping to trick someone else into corroborating the identification, or c) they are deluded by false hope. Perhaps all three?

This sketch thing seems like a ridiculous gimmick, a reality TV-level “twist” that is meant to keep the viewer tuned in and talking about this salacious scandal.

It’s perfect for the Trump presidency.

Well, well, well.

The FBI on Monday raided the office of Michael Cohen, President Donald Trump’s personal lawyer, a person with knowledge of the matter told NBC News.

Given that that article notes that Cohen’s offices are in 30 Rockefeller Plaza, I think I’m not surprised that NBC News got information about it.

This…seems significant. I’m trying to keep a level head about things, but this seems real significant.

Usually, I’m not a fan of Mondays. :stuck_out_tongue:
