Trump sued by Stormy Daniels over hush payment

On the other hand, Ivana does not like Marla for obvious reasons, he left Ivana for Marla and cheated with Marla.

Seems Cohen has a secret cease and desist order now against Stormy. And has requested untold liquid damages against her thinking this will stop her.
This isn’t going to bring down the trump, but sooner or later, little cracks become big ones, especially when you hammer on them.

Tom Steyer should stop wasting his money on impeachment ads and back all these women’s lawsuits against Trump.

The contract includes a million dollar penalty*** per disclosure*** on her part, so perhaps forfeiting the $130,000 would be a cheap way out for her.

Agreed. Tom Steyer helps no one for a premature call for impeachment. Adds zero to the conversation and simply plays right into the Trump base persecution complex

Ummmmm…

It’s not exactly secret. Have a look. http://msnbcmedia.msn.com/i/TODAY/z_Creative/arbitration%20TRO.pdf

Why can this case be tried/ arbitraged in two days while all other lawsuits take months?

some reports say she can talk all she wants if she gives back the money. Does that make sense legally?

Only if the contract is ruled null and void, as it has higher penalties than that for her talking.

The schadenfreude is strong in this one (me too).

This is looking kind of like one of those cases where the prosecutors are stymied because presenting their case means disclosing classified information.

I mean, Stephen Cohen, in his mind, has a reputation to protect.

Stormy Daniels doesn’t. I mean, what, is Stephen going to release to the world the damning information that she has sex for money? She advertises that fact. She may have drug problems? Uhhhh… OK. Given the modern depiction of prostitutes in the media, we expect them to have drug problems, so all saying (if he will) that she has a coke problem is going to do is have people ask the President “Did you sniff coke off her ass or her tits?”

On BBC news website, a headline near the top read “Trump wins order to gag porn actress.” I was a little surprised that made it past the editors.

It appears that they have not changed it from “gag” to “silence.”

On the BBC, I expect that the word choice was at the editors’ recommendation.

How can these million-dollar penalties be imposed on Miss Stormy Daniels? Trump will never collect a million dollars from her. What happens now? Does he own her for the rest of his life? Does she keep paying his heirs until she dies? Does she go on welfare to avoid having to pay him anything? Why would a judge allow such a ridiculous clause in an arbitration agreement?

Perhaps one of the great writers here could rework the Allman Brothers song Stormy Monday? It seems to fit the situation.

She ought to be OK. Given her profession, I’m sure she has plenty of practice in suppressing the gag reflex. :stuck_out_tongue:

Correction: “they have now changed it”

Trump is finding out his policy of financially bullying people only works if the people he’s bullying have something to lose. Stormy really has nothing to lose compared to what she can gain. I expect more money to change hands and this to quietly disappear, or possibly, Stormy to play herself in the upcoming “Sinking the SS Trump” documentary. Win/win for her.

Trump’s legal strategy seems to be usually centered on the threat of crippling litigation that he doesn’t necessarily need to have a reasonable chance of winning. Since he has more money to throw and the apparent advantage of a signed contract agreeing to the penalty, a prudent individual might choose to avoid litigation against deep pockets.
