good, I hope she wins.

Hey, Trump did say that he wanted it to be easier to sue people for defamation.

And MSNBC said she’s suing the trump in the same court where Cohen is facing charges. Is this Fed. or State?

Is this statement by her attorney legally accurate:

bolding mine

Link for that quote:

Mr Avenatti is thoroughly enjoying his fifteen minutes. Keep a salt shaker handy.

It depends on the outcome of the lawsuit. If she wins, then he is correct - there are consequences for lying about someone.

Heh. This is one legal entanglement where Trump can’t:

  1. Intimidate his way out of it.

  2. Pardon his way out of it.

  3. Fire his way out of it.

What, oh, what can a poor bully do?

Since this is the SD thread on this MB, I would like to note that Very Special Legal Genius Rudy “Avenotti’s Secret Agent” Giuliani just admitted, in detail, that Trump reimbursed Cohen for the $130k.

Because of course he did.

I’ll be damned - Rudy is going to bring this one to a close soon. But who would have thought that he would do so by tossing Trump under the bus?

The part I find hysterically funny is Rudy’s insistence that there is nothing illegal regarding the funneling of cash from Trump to Stormy through Cohen. I doubt it is that cut and dried.

Ty Cobb must be having giggling fits right now.

Trump’s side will just say the Rudy doesn’t know what really happened and was just guessing.

I still can’t figure out if people think that Giuliani just screwed up, or has some counter-intuitive plan like the Chewbacca defense.

One comment I saw was that, seeing as Cohen’s stuff has been grabbed and the FBI will have the financial records, there’s no use lying so you may as well come out honest as early as possible to have time to work on the spin engine and cover story for the lie.

Seems plausible to me.

WSJ confirms in later interview with RudyG that Cohen was reimbursed.

Seeing as we know Mueller wants to talk to Trump, is this a subject that he would ask him about? If so, and considering the FBI already have the facts about it to hand, is this not a more acceptable way of admitting it without it being dragged out Trump for the first time in a sit-down hearing?

If picking apart his lies is this easy, you have to wonder what fun the FBI are going to have when they really get started on him.

what law is Trump breaking by paying her off via a lawyer? Assuming he used personal money ,not campaign money. But the problem is I am not sure how he can prove which money he used ,maybe he can show the account it came from . I realize that Cohen might have broken the law here but that’s a different issue .

Donald is a skinflint. He isn’t going to use his own money unless he absolutely has to, which he never does. I can’t believe he could have resisted the temptation to stick his hand in the campaign cookie jar.
