Trump Threatens to Send in the Feds to Chicago

Isn’t it rich?
Are we a pair?
Me here, at last, on the ground
You in mid-air

What exactly does “send in the feds” mean?

Jesus, another wall? Is this the answer to everything?

What are you going to do about immigration? We need a wall.

What are you going to do about crime? We need a wall.

What are you going to do about conflicts of interest? We need a “wall.”

What are you going to do about Corey Lewandowski’s haircut? We need a Wahl.

What are you going to do about Pixar movies? We need a Wall-E 2.

Social Security? Trade? Climate change? Infrastructure? Business cards? Super Bowl commericals? What’s for dinner? Wall, wall, wall, wall, wall, wall, wall… and one more wall just to be sure.

You forgot the best player on the Washington Bullets, er, Wizards, NBA team, chosen #1 in the 2010 draft… John Wall.

The true issue is that POTUS should not make long-term policy decisions and announcements via impulsive reactions to things seen on TV opinion shows meant to inflame impulsive reactions. Tweets like this make the “Twitler” moniker all too apt.

Our President should be better than that. Period.

^ This.

Haven’t heard “Twitler” before but I like it - is that available for general use or has someone trademarked it?

I coined it myself, but was probably in the zeitgeist as I found references to it on Twitter. I don’t think anybody has trademarked it or made it their own, however.

This use of epithet is unnecessarily inflammatory. Please remain civil.

[/moderating]

Meh, more so for Cleveland than Chicago. And what he mostly did was pursue corruption, and modernize the forensics department. Didn’t really go after murderers. That was the TV show.

Jesus, as if Walmart didn’t have enough power.

Certainly true, but even those living in the affected areas think there’s more to it this time, but they aren’t sure what’s causing this particularly lethal spike.

The focus on jailing the big time gang leaders may have something to do with it. There’s no big guy at the top controlling what’s going on. So just shoot whoever you want and there’s no repercussions from within.

When you have someone in power who tells a lie, makes it big, and repeats it often, Big H certainly comes to mind. Oh, wait…that was Lenin.

Big difference, eh?

If the cops really aren’t patrolling Chicago because they’re afraid they’ll end up on the national news the next time they gun down a random unarmed civilian, then I guess the cops in Chicago really do have a problem.

As for what’s going to happen, nothing’s going to happen. Trump watched O’Reilly, and sent out a random tweet about it. Tomorrow he’s going to watch another show and send a random tweet about that show. Anyone who thinks Trump’s tweets are supposed to herald a new policy initiative are sadly mistaken. The tweets are just what passed through Trump’s mind as he was switching between Fox News and YouPorn.

Yeah, but Chicago has BIG NUMBERS. You are your percentages and stuff. That’s fuzzy math!!

ETA: Salinas!! Salinas!!! Yeah, I heard about gang activity, but… Salinas??? And I’m guessing San Bernadino is the after-affects of that shoot-out last year?

Well, that’s not so bad then.

It’s the tweets that come after YouPorn that concern me now.

At least we’ll know that he’s found new ways to screw us…

Well, one’s a communist revolutionary, the other’s a genocidal war-monger. There’s a YUUUUUUUGE difference.

What we needs is Wonderwall!

458 murders in 2015 per your source vs. 762 in 2016 and on pace to be even higher in 2017. Chicago will be much higher on that list when they refigure the next list of cities with the highest murder rate.
