Trump Tulsa Rally Count

You clearly know nothing about the Grateful Dead.

To be fair, the last couple of Dead concerts I attended, I wasn’t paying much attention to the band. There were…uh…distractions.

Why is that dumb? What is the Republican Party going to do with contact info for a million TikTok users?

They’re trying to save face.

No doubt Trump has told Barr to arrest them all. I’m rather surprised Trump hasn’t tweeted this threat yet.

Can’t think of what crime the TikTok schemers might have committed.

They punked Trump.

No need for the TikTokers to have done anything illegal, Trump will be foaming at the mouth to get revenge somehow. So he will go to his top henchman Barr.

Someone joked that you can easily practice social distancing at a Trump rally.

As did two Secret Service agents, and “dozens” of others have now been ordered into quarantine: https://www.cnn.com/2020/06/24/politics/secret-service-trump-rally-quarantine-coronavirus/index.html

Has this been mentioned here yet?

Venue staff in Tulsa were putting “Do Not Sit Here” stickers on every other seat in the arena. Trump campaign staff intervened, told them to stop doing that, and then went through the arena removing the stickers that had been placed.

And not a person in attendance considers themself to be a mark or a pawn.

Is there any reason that they’d have had to give their real address? Like some sort of verification?

Because I definitely would have tried not to if I were doing this.

I think the whole reason for the infinite free tickets is to collect that list of potential donors: I would imagine they ger a lot more highly targeted marketing. What you want is a lean, limited list of people who have the funds and dedication to come to a rally. You can get a lot of bang for your buck using that list for actual people calls and stuff. What they got was a huge bloated list of people who would never and could never in a million years make donations.

That’s not a bug, its a feature.

Not asking for age verification, which means the list is now useless, was the bug.

I’ve been amusing myself filling out the Trump shove polls (much stronger than a push poll) I come across, especially the ones that have a comment box. Having my own domain with a forwarding service available, I set up an email addy suckmydickdonnie@[mydomain].com just for the purpose.

Yeah, adding to a list is undoubtedly automated. I’m hoping when I inevitably unsubscribe a human has to look at it.

Lack of age verification is only a problem if the campaign actually cares about following the election laws.

That’s the beauty of it!

It has begun…

Herman Cain was at the Tulsa rally and now in the hospital with covid.

As a friend recently said to me, wearing a mask is not a political statement, it’s an IQ test.

I think the original intent was to pitch Trump a softball. They scheduled the first rally in what they felt was Trump country. It was supposed get Trump warmed up by letting him appear before what was supposed to be a large friendly crowd. After that, they would move on to rallies in battleground states like Arizona, Florida, and Texas.

So they threw lots of free tickets out in order to encourage people to show up in Tulsa. Then when people started ordering ridiculous amounts of tickets, there was no rational person in the campaign to question what was happening. Instead they expanded their plans in order to accommodate the record-breaking crowd they now expected.
