It is absolutely hilarious to see the right dismiss this as some inconsequential kerfuffle that can be laughed off, knowing full well if the tables were turned they’d be howling like banshees about honesty and integrity and hollering, "Criminal!’ If any Democrat holding any office ponied up $25 million to settle a fraud law-suit, they would resign in shame. Trump will not like the idea of paying out $25 million even if it doesn’t come out of his pocket (but out of his Foundation, to which petitioners before the President will be generously donating, I would guess).
And in fact, $25 million will be a tiny fraction of the loot he will amass as President. Even so, he won’t have liked the idea of settling and seeing that $25 million go to his “enemies.” He won’t have liked it at all.
That he agreed to this, tells me that his handlers are very concerned about what the electors might do on December 19. To have this going through the courts and in the news every day, would have had the potential to sway enough electors to withhold the Presidency from Trump.
My guess is that Trump’s handlers are walking on eggshells until December 19. They are fearful..
