In March Trump stated that he wouldn’t settle because it was an easy win. I’m shocked, I tell you, shocked that now he’s willing to pay some fairly serious money (reportedly $20 to $25 million) to settle the case.
Of course, it’s easy for me to say because it’s not my money, but I’d sure like to see the litigants demand that the settlement include an admission of wrongdoing.
Unfortunately, no such luck. No admission of guilt is part of the package. so he will claim this as a “win”, and his Trumpettes will accept it as a “win”. Still someone should keep a damn close eye out for who’s pocket that settlement money comes out of, knowing his past history.
Well, if this goes the way most class actions seem to, their lawyers get 30%, and the plaintiffs get a $15 voucher for a real-estate course at the school of their choice…
Serious money to you and me; pocket change for Trump, who will likely pay it out of his “foundation” with OPM. But it’s okay, from what I’m reading of late, this administration will likely implode from scandal within a couple of years due to profiteering, insider trading, and nepotism.
if only the people suing him would say “nope, no settle” - even if they might lose - just to get the jackass on the stand - or moreso to watch the lawyerly shenanigans as they attempt to get/prevent him taking the stand, etc.
His stooges already know he doesn’t pay his bills w/ *his *money and they think he’s fantastic for getting to do something they’d love to get away w/ but can’t.
WOOOO STIGGINIT
I agree, it’s an unfair comparison. Maggots predictably grow out of their larval stage, whereas Trump is a permanently dependent on the opinions and money of others.
Defendant Trump.
Man, that sounds good, wish I’d gotten to hear it in person any of the dozens of times he’s been sued; but I strongly suspect I’ll have a chance in the future. Can’t wait! :D:D
