I get frustrated that when Trump repeats talking points, or memes, and then people on the news implicitly assume he’s just saying that stuff for political gain and doesn’t actually believe any of it. Trump isn’t that sophisticated. He doesn’t have the patience to learn how the world actually works, so a catchy meme works as well on him as it does on the MAGA faithful.
While the letter was addressed to Trump, it was not actually directed at him. It is directed at people who remember actual history, and specifically an appeal to people who still venerate Ronald Reagan.
Oh yeh I get that, totally, hence why it’s open. But even so, it’s worth emphasising he’s not even gonna bother reading beyond the first sentence. Because it isn’t kissing his arse immediately.
It looks to me to be awkwardly low and small, like Child’s Furniture, and Vance and Little Marco were relegated to the Kiddie’s Table at Thanksgiving. Real Cringy looking.
So the US is now just openly rooting for Russia to win. I wouldn’t be surprised if behind the scenes we’re giving Russia what we know about Ukraine. And we’ve even banned our allies from being able to help them.

Trump also ordered the US cyber command to stop trying to guard against Russian threats. Do you realize how fucking stupid, ignorant, and in a cult you have to be to deny Trump being a Russian asset?

It doesn’t matter if the Republican party purges itself of MAGA and tech bros and comes back to sanity. It could all happen again. We can’t trust you. We can’t rely on you. You are not on our side.
We can’t unpick 80 years of alliance as quickly as we like. We are going to have start making the investments we should have been making at least since 2008. It’ll cost and it’ll hurt. But the best we can do now is minimise the damage while cutting you out of the systems that are meant to keep the world safe from dictators and now have to keep the world safe from you.
Yes. Last night I fell asleep fantasizing that a coalition of non-US NATO countries (with help from Ukraine and others) bombed US military facilities, to prevent our ships and planes from falling into Russian hands, just as Churchill’s UK did against two French ports in 1940 – when France was technically still an ally, but really had become a puppet of Nazi Germany.
It’s a sad day when the idea of your own country being bombed puts a smile on your face.
Looks like Trump and Putin are ready to sit down and let Russia pick apart Ukraine without further lost of Russian troops! It has to be obvious to everyone in Washington what Trump is handing Russia on a platter! Shameful!
