Trump's Republican primary campaign

“All Franken”? You mean there’s more than one?

In any event, I don’t want the Trump bubble to burst until after he’s won the GOP nomination.

Breaking news - Donald Trump revokes pledge to support Republican nominee

Even a clock that doesn’t run is right twice a day.

Trump is saying the ex-Breitbart reporter must not have been hurt because she didn’t scream.

I despise Trump as much as the next guy, but I can’t blame him for this. The entire party is trying to torpedo him any which way they can. Why should he support them?

According to CNN, Cruz & Kasich have also withdrawn their pledges to support the eventual nominee.

I thought he said she could have been carrying a bomb?

Because he made a deal that if he would support them after the nomination, they would support him after the nomination. So it’s not unreasonable to hold him to his word.

Except… he said initially that he would do so, “As long as they treated me fairly.” And it was widely understood at the time that Trump’s word was unreliable anyway with or without that caveat. So I am less than outraged. I just thought I’d take the argument a little farther down the rabbit hole.

Anyhoo, working off of jasg’s observation, I see that Bloomberg reports that Kasich and Cruz dodged the question when asked whether they would support the eventual nominee. (Cruz: “I’m not in the habit of supporting someone who attacks my wife and my family”, Kasich: “I’ve got to see what happens.”). Trump was more forthright: “No, I don’t any more… I have been treated very unfairly.” A fine whine I would say.

Trump says he doesn’t want Cruz’s support. Trump says he doesn’t need Cruz’s support. All this wrangling!

Yah ok, but my point still stands. I’m not here to defend Trump and I don’t plan on voting for him, but I consider it important to acknowledge all instances of all candidates scoring a point. On the question of, “What does Trump have to offer minorities?”, eliminating H1B visas potentially offers them jobs, prospects, a path up the social ladder. Gotta score it as a point. Trump’s abuse of that program is a valid line of attack, sure, but sort of a non-sequitur.

Yeah, she shoulda spoke up. What Lewandowski did do doesn’t count because of something that reporter didn’t do.

Just professional rivalry.

Ann Coulter’s shtick has been doing the talk show circuit and writing books saying outrageous stuff. This was how she made her living. But have you seen a lot of her lately? Occasionally maybe, but not like the good old days.

What happened? Donald Trump got into the biz and is saying even more outrageous things. He is the shiny new toy. The masses are spending their time listening to him, not Coulter. The news media are giving him massive free exposure on his own terms. He is on a path to the presidency. No one has time for her and she has become no more than an occasional curiosity.

In business, it’s evolve or die. She made a good living being the conservative attention getter. She got comfortable and settled into the routine and thought it would last forever. Evolve or die. Facebook came along and all the kiddies abandoned their myspace pages. The Donald kicked it up a notch and now nobody has time for her.

Yeah, she may try once in a while to say something (like this) that will get her a little publicity, but unless she finds a new improved act to catch the public’s fancy, she becomes increasingly irrelevant.

Quote of the decade:

“I’m an honorable person. I’m an honest person.”

-Donald J. Trump at the Milwaukee Republican Town Hall, Mar. 29, 2016.

Trump has gone full-blown insane over this thing, frankly. On Twitter:

It’s called a “pen”, Donald.

Seriously, the guy thinks he can stand up to Russia, China and Iran but has resorted to “Moooom! She’s touching me!!!” responses to a reporter brushing against his hand. America is doomed if so many people think this is the guy to lead us.

There’s also this:

Quite apart from the weird concept of “firing a dog”, it’s just more “They’re picking on me! Make them stop!” behavior.

The man is a petulant child.

But it could have been a bomb!

It could have been a Class 4 grenade.

I never thought Drumpf’s “pledge” was worth anything, but I am a little surprised that he preemptively released everyone from their agreement without first waiting to see if he could get the nomination on the first ballot. Those who see a conspiracy by him, trying to destroy the GOP all along, just got a little boost for their theory.

I guess the right-wing establishment gave her a come-to-Jesus talk (“Nice bulk book orders you’ve been getting from us. Shame if something was to happen to change that…”).

I loved his response to Anderson Cooper saying Trump has suggested that he may press charges against the reporter.
"I didn’t suggest that! I didn’t. "
"Yes you did. "

“No i didn’t suggest that. …i tweeted it.”

Of course he doesn’t need the support of the other candidates! Trump doesn’t need anyone! He can do it alone, because that’s how GREAT he is!

He doesn’t even need the support of the American people to be President. He’ll go it alone, just like he always has.

Mightier than a sword! Of course he’s scared!

Or a thermal detonator.

Or she could have planned to make him hit himself while saying, loudly and into the camera, “Stop hitting yourself, stop hitting yourself!”

I love the fact that she’s from Breitbart- not exactly a liberal Daily Whine publication.
