Trump's Republican primary campaign

There are a lot of statements that Clinton would easily win against Trump. Instead it’s clear the race could go either way.

There’s a lot of polling that Clinton would easily beat Trump and precious little polling showing the opposite.

Based on Rasmussen?? Rasmussen isn’t an “outlier.” Rasmussen is just this side of using a Ouija board and throwing the I Ching. :smack:

Yep, add to that factors like:

[ul]
[li]A significant number of right wing media completely opposed to Trump. It will not be a robust echo chamber as in previous elections.[/li]
[li]Several polls from battleground states showing Clinton ahead. [/li]
[li]The company that Trump keeps. [/li]
[li]And many skeletons so egregious that even evangelicals do notice.[/li][QUOTE]
Do you think a narcissist, wheeling-and-dealing businessman like Donald Trump has a few skeletons in his closet? No. He’s got warehouses.

And many more point to Trump starting the main contest behind the 8 ball, and he is using a W.C. Fields cue stick.

Something amusing I discovered.

Benjamin Franklin:

TRUMP’s geneology:

Well, it looks like it’s over. Congratulations?

Please drop out now Mr. John Kasich.

Why would he? He’s got nothing to lose.

And nothing to win.

It is you who should be congratulated. A very winnable race has been handed to Democrats on a silver platter. And even if Trump does somehow pull it out, we still lose because he’s not going to advance conservatism in any way, shape or form except maybe on border issues. Supreme Court justices? Can’t rely on him at all. Taxes and spending? He’s ruled out spending cuts for the most part and wants to raise taxes on the rich. There’s just very little upside for us even under the scenario of a Trump general election victory. Yay, we made Democrats’ heads explode, I guess that’s something. There would be quite the hissy fit if he actually became President. But I’d like to think we aspire to more than just “neener neener”.

It really scares me (and apparently most of the free world) that so many Americans can vote for Trump. The thought of him answering the red (I mean gold) phone at 3AM will keep me up most nights if he wins.

This is a big reason I’m so worried about the election. adaher is so consistently and dependably incorrect in his political prognostications that I fear the chances of a Trump win.

Even in Trump’s case, I think that fear is overrated. As bad as Trump is, he’s better than the other guy on the end of that red phone and far more stable.

This one should scare you more. I’m 42 years old. I’ve voted in every Presidential election since 1992. The candidate I’ve voted for has NEVER won.

And I’m probably voting for Clinton.

He’s gotten this far, he might as well stay in on the off-chance that Trump and Cruz might somehow self-destruct, or meet with accidents, or have unfortunate encounters with garlic or holy water.

So how often do you think ads featuring that white supremacist endorsing Trump will run?

Not at all. It’s irrelevant, much like Communists endorsing the Democrats all those years was irrelevant. Heck, Trump could run ads featuring Louis Farrakhan urging his followers to vote Democrat. Would have the same effect(none at all).

And, what do you know, Cruz drops out.

Now ya gotta stay in, Kasich! We were promised a convention riot! How else is it gonna happen now?! Please think of the poor starving gonzo journalists! :frowning:

You mean that guy in Russia that endorsed Trump? I’ll bet he doesn’t have an agenda in that endorsement.

Well, nowadays the reaction would be “Whouis Fuckwhat?” It’s been so long since Farrakhan has been in the news. No more resonance than Al Sharpton.

But white nationalists endorsing Trump, that’s a different matter. It says something important about his base that the Commie endorsement never said about the Democrats.
