Trump and his supporters are sociopaths. They already hate the media, this doesn’t change anything. ALL Republicans think that media sources other than FOX or Hate Radio are communist Muslim sympathizers.
It’s quite distressing to see people cheering Trump. It’s even more distressing to think that a solid majority of Republicans agree with a ban on Muslims. Now the other candidates will either have to dance to his tune or leave the arena. No matter what, we’re going to get a nominee who is a religious bigot.

For crying out loud, Trump isn’t “banning” Muslims! He merely wants a moritorium on Muslim immigration pending development of a sufficient way to vet them for terrorists.
Everyone with half a brain knows terrorists are working to infiltrate their numbers to gain entry to the U.S. to commit acts of terror. I understand our country’s liberal contingent never concerns themselves with the victims of their wrongheaded social warrioring, but the exaggeration and hysteria going on over this would be laughable if so many weren’t buying into it.
It’s perfectly reasonable to assess threats coming into the country and take steps to prevent them. It’s not like we’re uprooting them from their homes and friends and jobs and fencing them in like we did the Japanese 70 years ago, we merely want to weed out those who would do us harm as best we can before they have a chance to do so.

Did anyone see Trump’s plan to get at least 93% of the black vote, and thinks he can get 100%? He’s really pushing for the black vote because he wants to show you that he’s not racist.
He’s so not racist, in fact, that a member of his inner circle, Michael Cohen, actually says - about Trump not being a racist - “Trump needs to win black voters because other minority groups won’t support him…The truth, yeah, I’m trying to coordinate it because I am mindful of the fact that, you know, there are coalitions and I’m talking about now like Hispanic coalitions that … will not support Trump. And that’s OK because the ones that don’t like Trump aren’t even here legally and they can’t vote, so it doesn’t really matter, right?”
Because the easiest way to show you’re not racist is to say that no Latino voters would vote for you because “they aren’t even here legally and they can’t vote, so it doesn’t matter.”
And if you believe the day would ever come when Trump would concede that the vetting was sufficient and the ban would end, then Chris Christie has a bridge to sell you.
The idea of asking anyone what religion they are in order to conduct any government business should make any rational person recoil in horror.
I don’t give a shit about invading terrorists. No, that’s not quite right. I think Mr. Trump’s notion (it’s not even a plan, really) is pure bigotry and will do nothing whatsoever to reduce the risk of a domestic terrorist attack. For crying out loud, at least look this shit up before posting. Trump is banning Muslims - all of them - from entering the country. Not just immigrants, but students, businesspeople, diplomats, vacationers and so on. And it’s not “pending development” of anything. It’s “until our country’s representatives can figure out what is going on.” That language is vague enough to support a ban for pretty much ever, especially given Congress’ present level of productivity.
Well, he’s said that, if a someone tried to enter the US via airplane, they would be asked if they’re Muslim. If they say “yes,” they don’t get into the country.
Sounds a lot like banning to me.

But the reason Christians are now tolerant is the increasing secularization of Western nations, not anything that Jesus said. Hell, Iraq under Saddam was reasonably secular and tolerant of religion - just not of opposition. I believe his number 2 man was a Christian and women didn’t have to fear going to school.
