Ah, that makes sense. The two were going on at the same time, so I thought it was the shoulder gas coming out…the other end.
I’m a terrible patient, too - I learned my lesson firsthand. I went went back to work too soon, and only made it until noon - I was white as a sheet, and shaking like a leaf.
It’s hard to judge what you can do when you don’t feel bad, but you still need to take it easy. Maybe think about what you’d normally do, then dial it back by about a quarter.
I had my unhappy gallbladder out last fall, and reluctantly took a week off. When I went in for my postop the surgeon wanted to know why the upper port site was irritated (the other two incisions were fine) and he ROARED when I told him I needed to chop some firewood and put on my corset so I could do that chore. It rubbed on the affected bit;). I would have had the new robotic procedure but he broke it on the person before me. I’m glad I didn’t go to work though, because though I could do stuff like split kindling and cook after 3-4 days, naps were needed and a pain pill or two. (I’m not superwoman, my husband is disabled from a stroke so I Do That Which Must Be Done)
