Turkey Week in TX w/ In-Laws: So Far, So Good

Every other year, El Hubbo and I get together with his family for Thanksgiving. This year, we’re in Austin. El Hubbo’s brother has cats and I’m severely allergic, so we insisted on getting a hotel room and rental car. El Bro was not too happy with that; but it turned out to be a very good move on our part. Within thirty minutes of arrival at El Bro’s yesterday, I was wheezing.

We went belt buckle shopping this morning at Shepler’s (a pretty famous western wear chain, for y’all who don’t know) and had a blast. My sister-in-law’s husband (born and raised in Maryland; this is his second trip to TX) bought the largest belt buckle in the store. Silver with gold accoutrements, 4 inches by 6 inches. He’s wearing it to our celebration tomorrow.

More later…

Darn Gazelle, we even talked about your Thanksgiving trip last summer. But I forgot, so no Batdope.

Ah well! You’ll enjoy Austin, I trust, being a fellow ‘Horn an’ all. Happy Thanksgiving!

A wheezing gazelle shops for belt buckles. Will wonders never cease?

Wouldn’t a big buckle like that hurt when he sits down? It sounds like it would cut into his stomach.

I’m back. Ran the Turkey Trot yesterday morning; turned out to be a beautiful day for running in Austin. I need to check the 'net for my time.

El Hubbo is also allergic to cats. We ended up having to leave El Bro’s house at 6:00 PM on Thanksgiving. Our allergies seem to have acted on our behalf; we can’t stick around El Bro’s too long before feeling like crap, so we haven’t spent much time with the in-laws, meaning we haven’t been around for any drama.

Kinda nice.

Yay, GfH! Airman Doors and I are in San Antonio for Thanksgiving. Since Dave’s family gets Christmas, and since Thanksgiving and Hanukkah are so close together, we decided to have a Texas Thanksgiving.

If you have time, wanna get together? E-mail’s below.
