They’re pretty sure it was ISIS.
No one has claimed responsibility yet, but the reporter just said it fits ISIS MO- and also said that when ISIS has hit Turkey in the past, they haven’t usually claimed responsibility.
Dreadful. Some friends came through that airport the day before.
My ex-husband and our 4 kids are headed to Turkey day after tomorrow. If this atrocity had happened in 2 days, it could have been them. I feel stunned, horrified, and so incredibly lucky.
That’s terrifying.
I have a friend whose son is in Turkey on a Rotary student exchange program. He (the son) was (and still is as of this writing) scheduled to fly back Saturday.
Looks the airport has reopened. He is flying Air Canada so the (lifted) ban on U.S. <–> Turkey flights is not relavent.
