Where can I get a cup of authentic Turkish coffee in the L. A. area? Barring that, that is the prevailing opinion of adding cardomon to a Turkish coffee?
Go to any Greek restaurant in the Byzantine-Latino quarter. Or an Armenian restaurant in Glendale.
Just don’t call it *Turkish *coffee.

How appropriate.
I’m going to move this to Cafe Society.
And don’t call me Turkish.

For a moment there, I thought I was at Chowhound.com. I’m a member over at that board, and this is exactly the type of questions the foodies over there love to debate. Want me to ask it?
Also little Armenia (East Hollywood).
You can make your own, too. There are brewing devices that are pretty cheap, and that can produce something close to what you’d get in a cafe or restaurant. Then you can add cardamom (or pickles, for that sake) if you like.
You don’t need to ask our permission.
