I have a Turkish tea packet, but not those twin vessels to make the tea.
Can Turkish tea be prepared the normal way? How good is it?

No one?
Depends on what you mean by “normal way”, since that seems to vary around the world. I make Turkish tea both with and without the çaydanlik. Without it, you won’t get the same qualities, but it’s still enjoyable.
If you put it in a strainer or bag, and steep it as you would whole leaf tea, it lacks a lot of the taste and richness. It’ll be closer if you use the hottest possible water and use more tea (unless you like your Turkish tea weaker, but even then it’s not quite the same as the diluted tea). Another way is to boil it in a pot. I’ve made pretty decent masala chai with my Turkish tea as well.
I don’t think you would need it. I think you can replicate the technique with a teapot and pretty much anything that you can boil a few cups of water in.
