Turns out I love Gatorade

I always imagined that it was disgusting, but I was out and about and it was really hot and I was dehydrated so I bought some thinking it would be gross but it would help…and it wasn’t bad at all.

Is there anything you assumed you wouldn’t like but then when you accidentally tried it it turned out be be really good?

Something similar - kool-aid. I thought is was just gross, sugary crap for kids (of course I drank it as a kid, but hardly ever as an adult), but it turns out that it is actually very versatile as a drink - I need to drink a lot of water, but I get bored with just plain water. I can make kool-aid with as little sugar as I want - a half cup of sugar in a big pitcher of water isn’t an extremely high calorie drink, and a little sugar in my water as I work outside on hot days is a good thing. All the flavour, half the sugar, lots of water - what’s not to love?

Heh. You may have only loved it because you where hot and dehydrated. Classic First Aid Provider field test for dehydration: give the person half strength Gatorade. If they think it tastes great, they’re dehydrated! To a healthy person, half strength Gatorade tastes nasty. Full strength Gatorade isn’t bad, but if you’re not dehydrated, it’s oddly salty and slimy.

But yes. When I finally, reluctantly, tried sushi, I was amazed by how much I love it. Now I can’t get enough! Also roller coasters. My friends tricked me into standing in line with them for a roller coaster once. They knew, but I did not, that the only way down was on the coaster. I was shaking and crying and begging not to go on it, but by the end of the ride, I was hooked!

Try making some lemonade with Realemon or the generic equivalent, and sugar and Splenda or other sweetener. The tartness is very refreshing.
