TV at 7 am on Sunday: up late or up early?

It is 7:00 am as I write this. VH1 is showing “Insomniac Theater” and while flipping channels, I find that channels 42, 44, and 46 are all showing ads for “Girls Gone Wild.” This is the first time I’ve ever come across 3 ads for the same product at once.

It’s obvious that TV, or at least some TV channels, assume that those watching before 7 on Sunday are still up from Saturday night partying, not up early because of back pain from a recent car accident and the affections of two Siamese cats.

I have no idea what my point is. I posted this in Cafe Society because it has to do with TV. Respond however you see fit.

I like to start work late, so if people mention 7am to me I say. “What, they have a 7 in the morning too. I knew you could stay up until the numbers got smaller but I had never heard of that.”

[apart from the fact that your 7 am is my 9 am, and I’ve been up since 3:30 am, which would have been your 1:30am, and um, there was a point but I’m too tired to figure out what it is…]

Had a bad dream and woke up at 3:30. Been watching/listening to/ignoring the tv since then (and surfing through my normal morning online comics, newspapers and here):

The Lighter Side of Sports with Mike Golic
COPS
Hispanics - weekly news program on Hispanics and their contributions to arts and politics
various PBS kids shows (Dragontales, Thomas the Tank Engine, Arthur [ick, they were talking about barfing in school])
unknown numberof infomercials

Oh yeah, and the cat (today’s personality - “Her Majesty”) wanted to be fed. Again.

Gotta get ready soon - Theatre tickets for this afternoon, and I still have to hit the shower and another cup of coffee to stay awake.
