Anyone who could communicate other than in grunts and hand gestures would be out of Barney’s league.
And I’m saying that virtually everything about the character’s personality throughout the entire series strikes me that way, and that if you don’t see it my way, you never will.
Sounds like the little old lady on the jury who cast the deciding vote for Guilty because “he has shifty eyes”.
The standard for liking someone’s personality or not is not the “above reasonable doubt” from a jury trial. I found the the character as repulsive as anyone from Seinfeld, and I don’t need to write an essay before I am allowed to think that way. I wouldn’t want to spend five minutes around her, much less a life-time married to her.
Please don’t write an essay. Why don’t you just give an example instead? Is it because people will rebut your position? I believe everyone here gets what you’re saying,…they just don’t agree with you.
I think your myopic description of Debra is off the mark.
Harridan - a callous, lying traitor, an inauthentic, paranoid crook and a sickly crone who craves power and money.
Fishwife - a vulgar, gossip-spreading, abusive or nagging woman with a loud, unpleasant voice.
Thanks for the clarification. So “harridan” is an inaccurate description of Debora, while “fishwife” is dead accurate.
(Don’t think I don’t know what you are trying to do by bumping this old thread.)
No Darren, fishwife doesn’t fit either.
No Darren, your Karnak skills are “off.” I read, as well as, post in threads I have an interest in.
Don’t project your thoughts and actions onto me.
Not that I owe you any explanation, but…I was originally going to post a mismatched movie couple until I realized the thread was TV couples only.
Instead, I gave my opinion (do I need to write an essay?), stating that I think the Debra character was neither a harpy, a harridan, nor a fishwife. I would’ve refuted those statements no matter whom the poster was.
I never noticed the date of this thread, but I believe it was on the first page of the Cafe Society.
But,…you do you.
Last post before yours was in January.
What year?
[Moderating]
saucywench, you can see as well as Darren Garrison that the post immediately before yours was on January 9, 2020. Though I’m not sure the relevance of the year, since any other year would mean the thread was dormant even longer before your post. And in any event, the thread certainly wasn’t on the first page of Cafe Society when you bumped it.
It appears likely that you bumped an old thread solely for the purpose of stirring up trouble. In any event, regardless of your intention, that appears to have been the result of your action. This thread is closed.
