TV fitting into a small SUV

Would I be able to fit this tv into this car?

I have a chance to buy this tv from someone at work for $500. It’s used but he says that it works perfect. I don’t think that this guy would try to rip off someone in his office. I’m nowhere near my car and nowhere near the tv. I don’t want to miss out on a great deal and I don’t want to show up at his place and not be able to fit the thing into my car. Plus, he lives in the city. If it doesn’t fit, he’d have to lug the thing back up to his apartment. Any advice?

a 57" projection TV? not likely. Not in some way that woldn’t put you at a pretty good risk of damaging the TV.

If you want it and think it’s a good deal, rent a truck for a couple hours and pick it up that way.

I checked out the specs for the Vue - 63 cubic feet. My Escape has 66 cubic feet. At most you can fit something 36" high x 42" wide x however long (if you open the hatch) in the Escape and that is if your item were squishy.

So I’m gonna vote no. Just too tall.

My dad bought a floor model 53" projection tv about fourteen years ago and didn’t want to pay for delivery. We had a full-size GMC suburban and had to rent a trailer. Those things are just freaking huge.

It will fit into the glovebox but you will have to file the edges a bit to make it work.

Oh, you mean you just want to transport it?

Never mind.

Rent a vehicle big enough to carry it.
