Other than Nickelodeon’s TV game shows, were there other TV game shows where goop was dropped on you? I just saw an “I Love Lucy” episode where she gets on a game show where all kinds of goop is dropped on her. Was there ever such a show?

I can’t specifically say goop was dropped, but from my childhood I remember shows like Beat the Clock and Truth or Consequences where contestants got hit with pies and endured other slapstick-type punishment.

On the horrid new incarnation of Press Your Luck, “Whammy,” there’s apparently something called a “Double Whammy” by which the contestant loses all of his/her money and prizes and has things dumped on his/her head. I only know from the commercials since I loathed the original and the new version looks like it’s somehow been made worse. Then there’s Russian Roulette, where the contesants themselves are dropped.
