I beg to differ with TV Land’s first episode for “All in the Family”. In the epsiode they showed, Mike and Gloria were preparing to surprise Edith and Archie with a special meal to recognize some milestone anniversary. While many events in this episode seem to introduce the audience to Archie’s bigoted ways, etc., this COULD NOT be the first episode! (Maybe the trailer to pitch the show to the networks?)
The first episode would have to be when Gloria brings home Michael for the very first time to meet her parents. In this episode, Archie discovers his daughter is dating a person of Polish background. Also, Mike lets it slip out that he’s going to live in the Bunker Household. And, I think Gloria says something at the end about their plans to be married.
If this was not the first episode, then how could this episode have aired later? It wouldn’t make sense in a chronological fashion. Did TV Land goof-up?
