TV series where the majority of the protagonists die?

There was a British comedy called Murder Most Horrid; it was an anthology, and it seemed like they killed off most of the characters in every episode (I’ve only seen a few). Dawn French was the star, playing a different character each time, of course. There’s one episode that’s very James-Bondish, with Dawn blackmailed into taking the place of a professional assassin. And what with not having much experience with wrist-mounted poison dart guns and such, accidents will happen. The body count is probably a dozen in 30 minutes.

If anyone knows where I can find copies of this (that episode, in particular) I’d be grateful. I can barely find anyone who’s even heard of it.

This?

No, but thanks for checking. It’s the right Dawn French, of course, but I’m not quite sure why a “Murder Most Horrid” search on Amazon brings up that page when they don’t actually have that show.

There are tapes at amazon.co.uk, but they’re in PAL format. I’d accept a PAL DVD, since I’m planning to get another player with a built-in converter (first one broke), but analog converters are expensive. I just found a website for a company that will do the conversion; I may have to go that route.

And of course, Aeon Flux dies at the end of virtually every MTV Liquid Television animated episode in which she appeared.

Revenge of the Sith.

Lonesome Dove had quite a few characters die…Sean, Roscoe, Janey, Joe, Jake, Elmira and her two hangers-on, Dee Boot, Deets, Gus…and that’s not even counting the bad guys who die in droves.

The main ones left are Clara, Lorena, Call, July and Newt.
