TV Shows That Ended With The Cast Waving At The Audience/Doing Bits

Call Me Kat * ends in such a way that, once the final scripted lines are delivered and the episode’s plot is complete, all of the characters wave at the audience, one at a time, while the camera focuses on them and the credits roll. Sometimes, this is accompanied by a brief “bit,” such as two characters standing up having previously been hidden by a piece of furniture.

I seem to recall this being done on a few shows that I watched in my childhood, but I’ll be damned if I can remember specifics.

Does this trope ring a bell for anyone?

*This show is terrible. Mayim Bialik deserves better.

Miranda

It’s been ages since I’ve seen it, but didn’t It"s Gary Shandling’s Show end with the cast, or at least Gary waving to the audience?

I Married Dora

The series is remembered for its concluding scene in the final episode. In that scene, the characters are in an airport when Peter, the lead, suddenly notes that their series is canceled. The camera immediately pulls back to reveal the stage and the studio audience and the cast takes a bow

Beverly Hillbillies ended with the cast waving during the credits/ closing song.
Brian

“The George Burns and Gracie Allen Show” usually ended with Burns and Allen doing a bit to the camera off-set.

Didn’t Roy Rogers and Dale Evans end every episode of their show by saying goodbye to the audienece (and singing “Happy Trails to You”)?

Mickey Mouse Club. “Now it’s time to say goodbye to all our fam-i-ly: M-I-C (See you real soon!), K-E-Y (Why? Because we love you!), M-O-U-S-E!”

I forget. Was it “fam-i-ly” or “com-pa-nee”? :face_with_raised_eyebrow:
