The good shows I like are Buffy and Angel. Now comes the really bad shows:
Three’s Company. I got hooked over the summer on Nic@Nite reruns. It’s become a running joke in my house.
J: What are you watching
Me: Three’s Company
J: What happens
Me: There’s a misunderstanding. Wackiness ensues.
Who’s The Boss General Hospital–Used to be the best soap on TV. The quality has gone steadily downhill for the past two years. Nic and Em make me want to hurl everytime they’re on the screen. Sonny is a bastard. Carly…don’t even recognize her anymore. Zander is dead and Ric literally makes me want to hurl every time I see his smug, self-righteous, sociopathic face. I watch it whenever I’m home during the day.
It is. They show two episodes everyday on TBS starting at 11am CST (right after two episodes of Dawson’s Creek which start at 9am, right after an episode of Charmed on TNT at 8am… what?). I think it’s on at 6:30am too, but it’s the same episodes they play at 11, I think. I don’t know, I try not to be up that early.
I also watch Charmed. I don’t usually catch the 8am episode (and they’re all old ones I’ve seen anyway) because I’m too busy feeding Alex breakfast, but I’ll catch the 5pm one (TNT) if it’s one I’ve never seen. And I always watch the new eps on the WB (Sunday nights, 7pm). They’re rerunning them now though, probably because Holly Marie Combs is about to give birth.
And I’m totally screwed if I miss the Sunday showing. They replay it the following Tuesday on TNT at 9pm but, at that time, I’m too busy watching…
THE REAL WORLD! (San Diego!)
If I’m ever unlucky enough to be up that early, it’s because I have to go run some errand for one thing or another. I think I’ll just have to continue to go without.
I have been watching All My Children sporadically since the early 1980s. Even though the same plotlines keep being recycled over and over, and I find myself annoyed most of the time at most of the characters, It keeps drawing me back, like some potent combination of heroin and nicotine.
Wait–Come to think about it, I’m very ashamed to admit this.
Since SlackerSavant beat me to it, I’ll see both The Dukes of Hazzard and The A-Team and raise you a Knight Rider! “One man [or woman] can make a difference,” especially if he has a really cool car which comes when you call it, a brilliant techie to maintain it, and Edmund Mulhare to run the show. (Don’t remind me of how many Trans Ams gave their lives for that show.)
One show I’m proud I liked is Remington Steele. It started just before Moonlighting, and had more class, more style, and Pierce Brosnan.
Oh, and one vote for Sports Night, since no one seems to have mentioned it yet.
I got hooked on it at the very beginning. Remember the promos for the premier? They were all in sexy lingerie, and Courtney Cox stopped in the middle and said she felt stupid.
I’m in until the end, baby.
And (sigh) Enterprise. I’m a glutton for punishment.
I am a Real World devotee. As much as the show’s declined in the last few years, I’m still one of the faithful. I also always watch The Real World/Road Rules Challenge, which is just fantastic. Although Road Rules was never one of my top shows–and Campus Crawl was sucktastic–I still watch because I need to know who’s going to show up on future Challenges.
I also love Celebrities Uncensored on E!, **The Fabulous Life of . . . ** on VH1, the occasional episode of Driven, and on Saturdays I get up early to watch reruns of Beverly Hills, 90210 on FX.
Well-written is what makes me a fan. Shows I am not ashamed to admit I am/was hooked on include **Buffy, Angel, ** and Firefly, of course. i will defend to the death the greatness that was Babylon 5.
Of the current crop of shows, the ones that float my boat include Joan of Arcadia, Scrubs, ** and yes, I admit it, theWorld Poker Tour.**
Another vote for Buffy and Angel. I own Seasons 1-5 of Buffy and 1-3 of Angel. Given the number of friends and colleagues who also are fans (some of whom I’ve converted through strategic lending of my DVDs), there’s always someone to drool over Spike with.
I’ll also admit to watching Highlander on occasion, as long as it’s not the first season.
And I started watching Dawson’s Creek on TBS in the morning while getting ready for work, etc. It ended up with me watching the entire series that way AND buying the DVD of the series finale to find out how it all turned out. And yep it even made me happy that Joey ended up with Pacey rather than Dawson.
I don’t think Blind Date gets enough credit, honestly. It’s friggin’ hilarious. I don’t really care for the pale imitations, like the aforementioned * Elimidate,* 5th Wheel, and whatever other dating shows are around these days.
Now you’ve got me humming the theme song, damn you.
Show me that smile again
Don’t waste another minute on your crying
We know we’re near the end
(we know we’re near)
The best is ready to begin…

I’ve finally been able to kick my Bold habit because the show has just gotten so. freaking. bad. It’s gone nowhere but downhill(even by soap standards) since Taylor was killed, IMO.
BMW definitely improved with time. The early episodes are pretty bad and all followed the same sitcom formula- opening scene sets up theme of episode, Cory does something bad or screws something up, and then all is resolved by the episode’s end and we get the moral of our story. Meh. The later high school and college years is when it really became watchable.
Wow, I didn’t know there were so many Dawson’s watchers on this board. Good to hear. I was another one who cried during the finale- it was well written and well acted, which sadly cannot be said for the last 2 seasons(5 + 6). Jen’s death scene was perfect(IMHO)- no melodrama, no overwrought farewell speeches, nothing over the top, just a sweet glance at her Grams, and she was gone. Very touching(sniffle). And I was also glad the writers did the right thing and put Joey and Pacey back together. Great series finale.
