TV theme song questions

SquidBillies opening theme song is often sung by different artists.

Slightly off-topic, but has anyone else seen the theramin made from a badger? I shit you not. Badgermin.

Eh, I prefer the standard theremin. We don’t need no stinking badgers.

The Internet is now complete.

I have grinned.

Dukes of Hazzard is another with a verse not on the TV show.

I’m a good old boy
You know my mama loves me
But she don’t understand
They keep a-showing my hands and not my face on TV, haha

Same with Sesame Street:

It’s a magic carpet ride
Every door will open wide
To happy people like you
Happy people like
What a beautiful

I held back on sharing this one, because, it shows my intense geekiness.

A childhood favorite of mine only played the following theme with lyrics during the closing of the pilot/movie, or at least, that’s the only time I heard it during syndication. I half remembered parts of it, and of course remembered it fondly. I still enjoy the theme (cheesy as it is), but the lyrical glurge… [ shakes head in shame ]

( this link has the spoken intro, followed by the theme which normally played at the end, with the lyrics so that you might shame me)

I love that song, and I am not ashamed at all. I will admit, the tenor-verging-on-soprano occasionally sounds a bit whiny. I wish they had gotten a baritone to sing it.

How about this one?

Which leads me to ask, how many other theme songs were sung in the first person?

Alice
Frasier

Crazy Ex-Girlfriend
Scrubs
Greatest American Hero

Crap! Skunked me by 5 seconds. Believe it or not.

…it’s just me
