I find nonsense singing fascinating. Like scat singing, I find I can’t do it. I fall back into about two sounds very early. All I can do is hubba bubba humma. I can’t even sing along with, say, Rubber Biscuit, and I’ve heard it about 10K times since the Blues Brothers album. It’s like I’m missing the delta brainwave or something.
He went to lay down the instrumental track. No lyrics had been written so he just threw out random words and syllables. The show’s creator, Hugh Wilson, liked the final result so much they used it instead of actual lyrics.
This borders very much on being a hijack, but if you want nonsensical singing, there’s always Adriano Celentano.
