Two completely random clothing questions

I suck at Google. Y’all are better at it, hence…

  1. I love the shoes that Bill Murray wore in the hospital scene in Lost In Translation. What kind of shoes are they? I’m not sure I’d ever wear something like that, and I’m sure they cost more than a typical car payment, but I’d be interested to see what they were. I’m trying to find a picture, and I’ll post it here if I can find one.
  2. I saw a picture once of the cast of *House *(it was House, Wilson, and Cuddy, plus every fellow House has ever had), and I’d like to see more photos from the same shoot. They were all wearing t-shirts, navy blue IIRC, that all said something different on them in white writing. All nine of them were barefoot and I believe they were all wearing blue jeans, no slacks or skirts or anything. Mostly I’m just curious as to what everyone’s shirt says. Can someone help me out here?

The t-shirts all said “Normal’s Overrated”.

You can buy one here:

http://www.nami.org/Template.cfm?Section=House_T-Shirt_Partnership&Template=/ContentManagement/ContentDisplay.cfm&ContentID=72464

If you go to www.gettyimages.com and search for House and NAMI, you will get loads of photos. The cast wore them to the 100th episode party as well as for the official photo.

I think BomTek means this photo. That’s the largest size version I could find, and some of the slogans are still obscured. What I can make out is:

Wilson: Admit the past, deny the [present?]
Thirteen: [Everything?] has a reason
Chase: Don’t blame me, blame my gender
Kutner: Doing things changes things
House: Hope is for sissies
Cuddy: [Don’t?] trust [something I can’t read?]
Foreman: Bad mojo is not a diagnosis [?]
Cameron: […body’s?] something
Taub: Be good, get good [gifts?]

I’m entirely open to correction by anyone keen to strain their eyesight

Oh! I meant to add that I haven’t found any other shots from that session. Which is a shame, because now I want to know what all the shirts say.

I just re-watched Lost in Translation the other night, and the shoes looked sturdier than the usual plastic slip-ons. They looked more like plastic garden clogs.

That’s the one… and I see that they’re not ALL barefoot, and the shirts are more gray-ish. Thanks for finding that! Impressive work, considering how wrong I was on my description. If you have any luck finding some more from that shoot, please let me know. And Lurker, thanks for the link to Getty Images. Those were cool to see, and I forget every once in a while just how beautiful Lisa Edelstein is.

I’ll have to check again. I was thinking they were kind of copper colored with a somewhat distinctive pattern like a woven basket.

I’d love to take all kinds of credit, but all I did was a Google image search on “cast of House”. It was the third picture.

The only things you got wrong in the description were the colour of the shirts and how many people were barefoot. Compared to most descriptions of pictures that people are tying to find, that’s exact.

Oh. I thought maybe it was this photo:

Nice find.

It appears that each of the shirt slogans are quotes from the show. This link (http://answers.yahoo.com/question/index?qid=20090104203255AA5zEuB) appears to have identified them all.

Even nicer find. My curiosity is satisfied. Thank you.

Now, see, that’s just me overcomplicating things! I would’ve NEVER thought to search for something that general while looking for something so specific. Lesson learned, I guess.

I checked *Lost In Translation *again last night, and managed to get a few screen captures of the shoes I was talking about. Not sure how I’ll get those pics online (especially with the restrictions the Net Nazis have put on our internet here), but they’re definitely copper- or bronze-colored, and they have a woven pattern. They look like oxfords or derby shoes.
