We set out just to get one kitten but found a pair of 4 1/2 year old brothers at Petco that the owner didn’t want to separate. We couldn’t resist! They’re both very sweet and playful.
As for their names…Showing my parents one lousy flash animation has come back to haunt me. They’ve officially been dubbed Badger and Mushroom. :smack: Oy. But so cute!! Pictures soon to come!
Ooh I’m embarrassed to say I realize I wrote 4 1/2 *years *old. They’re 4 1/2 *months *old! Which is not to say we’d object to adopting adult cats either.
I don’t see any pictures…WHERE ARE THE PICTURES!? [sub]we’re supposed to get pictures we’ve been promised pictures when kittens are even mentioned there are no pictures here where are the pictures?[/sub]
FWIW, and I know this isn’t my thread, but I’ve only ever adopted adult cats from shelters. It’s probably un-American or something, but I don’t like kittens. They’re too little.
As for your two new babies, saramamalana, congratulations! I love their names and like everyone else, I’m waiting for pictures!
I’d just like to point out that I myself would prefer to adopt a kitten, were I to get a pet, and not (just) because of cuteness. If a pet is going to break my heart by dying someday, I want as much time with that pet as possible. Thus youth contributes to the time I can spend in that relationship.
Also adult cats don’t think it is fun to hide behind something and scare the bejeezes out of you by jumping out at you as you walk bleary eyed (and in my case, blind–no contacts in and I hate glasses) to the bathroom at 3am.
Could you please come and tell that to Samantha. She’s at least 2 (shelter was guessing when I adopted her in January) and still thinks that’s great entertainment.
Very cute! (Of course there is no such thing as “not very cute” kittens.)
Freaked me out for a sec - I had a foster litter a few years ago who looked EXACTlY like those two - they were named Julio Van Winkle and SueBee Honey. I got confused for a sec.
