Oregon… mostly because I’ve lived an hours drive away for most of my life.
Oregon - it’s got the most important airport.
Oregon. I went there last summer and I really liked the place. My sister lives there and I hope to move there one day as well. I didn’t even know there was a Portland, Maine until Punha mentioned it.
I like Powell’s – I probably visit every other time we’re in the city – but I am looking forward in your Pit rant. Perhaps it helps that I mostly browse and never ask for help.
Hey, thanks! Your postcard has been a favorite of mine on every trip throught eh southwest.
My mom was commenting just last week that Seattle’s a really young city. Of course, we were downtown on a Friday night just as the dinner/socializing hours were starting, so there were extra young and trendy people hanging around.
I do know a couple in their 70s who just moved to Portland, though, so there’s at least 2 over 50 somewhere in the city.
So, which Vancouver is your default, BC or WA?
Oregon.
Oregon. I’m from the Midwest, so both are approximately the same distance away. Though I’ve been to the one in Oregon, and my uncle used to live there.
Well, I’d have to say Oregon, if only because I live just 90 minutes away.
Sorry about ferrous’s problems with Powell’s. I was there Monday when I went to the airport to pick up my son from college.
Had a great time, picked up good books at really decent prices. I’ve never had a bad experience there, and I’ve shopped there for nearly 20 years.
On the other hand, I know what I want and hardly ever have to consult with staff other than to have them point me in the direction of a topic, so can’t really say about attitude.
Used to be a Blazer fan back in the day of Walton-Twardzidk-Steele-Neal, etc. but since the team dumped the concept of character some years ago and became the Jailblazers, my loyalty has dwindled to the near-invisible.

I think of Oregon. Never been to either one.
Seriously, though–my suburb has twice the population of Portland, ME, and I bet you’ve never heard of it.
