This thread entitled “Octane,” started by ramesh sodum, was closed by a moderator. The moderator mentioned closing another one of ramesh’s threads, so I got curious. I went to his profile and followed the “Find all threads started by…” link. The “Octane” thread doesn’t show up on the list, but it’s clearly there and it’s clearly started by ramesh sodum. Is this a bug, or can moderators remove threads from that list?
Second question: Every profile I’ve looked at includes the words, (Whoever) “is not a member of any public groups.” Are there any public (or private) groups on this board? If so, how are they used?
Thanks!
There is a Limbo, and Moderators can move threads there. We can also move posts, old shoes, torn clothes, and copies of home movies there. We’re told we can send sinners there, as well, but no one has tried this to my knowledge.
OK, seriously, it’s a protection that allows Moderators to remove threads or posts from public view, but saves them so that they’re retrievable in case they’re ever needed, like for evidence at the trial.
Thanks, Dex! That makes sense. The only reason I found that thread is that another grouchy little thread had a link to it.

What about the 2nd question. Are there any public (or private) groups? If so, how are they used?
I’m thinking it could be a feature of the software on these message boards that the mods have chosen to disable due to bandwidth concerns and such. (like the calendar, Private Messaging, etc.)
