Two things you have learned today?

My two:

From hard experience - Vinaigrette and Pashmina don’t mix. :frowning:

From the cafeteria menu - “Tuscan” means “with eggplant.”

I have learned these two things.

I learned what pashina is. I also learned how to fix an esoteric database error.

I learned that whe the IRS says they are direct depositing your return in your account on September 19, that is does not happen on September 19. Nor, for that matter, as of right now, September 20.

I learned how to do a very tricky billing for work today (I was the FIRST! :D)

-The definition of adytum; I finally looked it up after someone used it twice in a word game. (Most inner, sacred, secret place of worship)

-That the name of one of my favorite pieces of cello music is NOT “Daydream” as I thought, but Terra Aria. *Daydream *is the name of the short film made to showcase some of Sollima’s works.

I learned I like split pea soup, which I’d never actually had before.
And I learned that I like garlic-stuffed olives better than I like feta-stuffed olives.

There are actually nice, helpful people at Home Depot (it helps to be there at a slow time).

That I have gained back half the weight I lost this spring. :frowning:

I learned that my mother has diabetes and glaucoma, which we only found out about when she had weird flashes in her eyes that brought her to the eye doctor for the first time in twelve years, where they found a vitreous detachment along with the glaucoma. She then dragged her butt to a doctor to check the rest of her health and it turns out she hasn’t been taking good care of herself at all. :frowning:

I also learned how the “bath salts” drug affects the brain and why it’s so terrible. I’d link to the article but for some reason I can’t find it again.

the olives i like best are stuffed with rocks. :frowning:

  1. I still like vodka. (Who knew?)
  2. Sometimes my sad, old, sedentary life is better than my kids’, who are still searching.
