Two Towers Soundtrack: Any early opinions?

Other than the movie itself, the soundtrack for TTT is one of the things I’m most looking forward to in the next month.

Well, six tracks from the new LOTR soundtrack have been circulating on the internet. They were recently played on a Classical movie station.

So far, it sounds amazing. I hold that FOTR’s score is one of the classics in history. Sounds like the Two Towers is on the way to match it.

I particularly like the tracks “White Rider” and “Forth Eorlingas”

They both have lovely string parts, though the second one sounds shocking close to Godfather music toward the end.

“Evenstar” is also beautiful. “Isengard Unleashed” mixes some FOTR sounds with some new ones. I can imagine waves or Orcs breaking lose to this track.

Also heard are “The Hornburg” and “The Riders of Rohan”. Both interesting and beautiful as well.

Anyway, anyone else heard these or other tracks?

Who is the composer?

Howard Shore is composing the soundtracks for all three films, I believe, yosemitebabe.

I love the score for Fellowship. I bought it two weeks before I saw the film last year and listened to it constantly to psyche myself up for it. It’s wonderful music, even better when heard alongside the film.

I haven’t heard any of the preview tracks for Two Towers yet, but I’ll definitely be picking it up early.

I absolutely love the FotR soundtrack. I have it on my computer, in my bathroom stereo, and in my car. I haven’t heard the new one yet, but I will definitely buy it soon - is it out yet?

Ooooh. Howard Shore. Good choice.

It comes out December 10.

Man, Forth Eolingas is a great track. Having heard them a few times now, I’d say this is best of the 6 that I’ve heard.

I can’t wait to hear Treebeard and Gollum’s Song in their entirety. Although I personally think it’d be better if Gollum himself did the vocals. Because I’m weird.

And what’s up with this, from the soundtrack.net ‘First Listen’ article:

I wish I could remember the book better; there was a group of Elvish warriors at Helm’s Deep, wasn’t there? Or am I thinking of something else? At any rate, I don’t remember any stand-out Elvish tragedies during that battle, and this makes me wonder if Peter Jackson hasn’t gone and done something completely wack, like killing off Legolas. My girlfriend would weep if that’s the case.

There were no Elves (other than legolas) at Helm’s Deep (in the book) (in fact, both Gimli and Legolas lament the fact that there are not more of thier kin there)

In the movie, there are Elves at Helm’s Deep and

I believe Haldir dies
