Sorry, I couldn’t think of a better name for this topic.
Most of us know George Lindsay for his one-note performance as Goober on “The Andy Griffith Show.” And though lovable, I suppose, it’s not a character or performance to write home about.
However, I recently caught a rerun of an old Twilight Zone episode, “I Am The Night–Color Me Black” in which Lindsay played a racist small-town sheriff. His performance was riveting and blood-chilling–evil truly seeped from the man, and this in the days before censorship allowed even mild profanity or overt realism. He did it all with his voice and body language. George Lindsay, at least in that role, was one hell of a fine actor.
Name some other performers and roles that have opened your eyes, that have made you say "Jeez, I always thought he/she was the worst actor in the world until I saw him/her in ??.
