@Mahaloth , pretty much the same, yes. Note, however, that there are no peanut or almond Smarties. Only candy-coated chocolate ones.
Yes. I prefer Smarties, but that is entirely due to my upbringing.
MnMs have a biscuit center, while Smarties are cheap chocolate? I think that that is the difference.
Wait, really? M&Ms have a biscuit center? Are you perhaps thinking of Kit Kat bars?
They are essentially the same except the cheap chocolate is tailored to national tastes. I also think an M&M might be slightly larger than a Smartie.
They don’t?
I know Smarties are chocolate based.
Not traditional M&M’s: the versions that have been around for decades are either just a milk chocolate center, or a chocolate-and-peanut center.
In recent decades, they’ve also introduced other variations, all with the same basic structure of some inner bit covered with chocolate and a candy shell: pretzel, peanut butter, crunchy cookie, etc.
AFAIK, every variation of M&M’s always retains the chocolate, and the hard candy coating.
So you’re just guessing that M&Ms have a biscuit center?
If an 8-year old is that discerning he will also complain if the pattern of the colors on the individual candies do not exactly match those on the label, so be careful.
From what I remember about them, “the quick version” is, Smarties are dark chocolate M&Ms (the kind in the purple bag) with a slightly thicker shell.
I am indeed. I don’t need to know, they are not sold in this country as far as I know, and my focus is in any case, on Smarties.
Besides, I am building the thing out of extremely indigestible foam, and no one will care what the filling is - it will be be foam.
That’s just lazy; you should be putting your kid in a giant, edible Smartie. Just keep the dogs away.
Smarties are milk chocolate, but a different recipe/type of chocolate to M&Ms.
Also: the orange-coloured smarties have orange flavouring in the chocolate.

me too, I love them lol!
As others have said, the logo is almost certainly hand drawn. The two “S”s in the word are different, and not in a way explained by capital vs lowercase.
However, I’m curious about how you’ll be producing the costume. You mentioned 3D printing. Details!
And if you can use the real logo, instead of a “close” font, it would be a kindness to the visually sensitive population — perhaps including your wife. (I bought a car at a Toyota dealer that hung locally-produced logos on their showroom wall — possibly made of painted wood. They got the proportions wrong, and it was disturbing to see. They claimed no one had mentioned it before. Jay Wolfe Toyota — Ballwin MIssouri.)
Kinda like this? :evil leer:
