Why not also the mother?

Because my Daughter’s Mother is/was too mentally ill to understand or accept the fact that our daughter was dead by murder.
So, since I have no knowledge or information about the Mother in this case I don’t feel bad about looking at it as the loss for the Father. That I know a lot about…
That was why I used both words. They mean different things.

I think this is one of those cases where common intuition is wrong. It’s probably safer to be out at 3 or 4am than in the middle of the day. But when you consider only the scary dangers of crime, and not the mundane danger of being hit by a car, it feels more dangerous.
