Note: I am the most gullible person to have ever lived, so the guy in this story could easily have been bullshitting me, but I gotta know the truth.
My friend’s boyfriend’s friend was telling me that around '86, U2 released an entirely Spanish album to their fan club. It’s supposed to be quite terrible, but I must get my hands on it! Questions:
- Is he telling the truth?
- Where can I buy this album?
- What are some song titles at least, so I can download them?
Dunno about if it exists, but '86 was Unforgettable Fire-era (their best album, IMHO), so look for Spanish translations of the song titles on that album.
I’d love to hear “Bad” in Spanish, personally.
Anyway, Peter Gabriel did German versions of his third and fourth solo albums, so it’s not unprecedented.
None of the U2 fanatic sites mention it, which tends to indicate it doesn’t exist. Otherwise some true fan would have found a copy of it.
Now they are putting out a Live CD, only to the fanclub, recorded in Mexico City. That’s kinda-sorta close to your story.
