So will the miners be the decisive forces and the action will be mostly happen underground?
ETA: shit, I’m pissed, this is the only round of 16 games that’s not shown on German free TV, and it has the potential to be one of the most interesting. Keep me informed.
ETA2: oh, I see on kicker.de, already 1-0 fur Turkey!
Well, the fact that MagentaTV (a streaming service) has picked this game for exclusive broadcast has caused a bit of on uproar here, just because our 3 million citizens of Turkish descent have it hard to watch the game. But IIRC, the stadium in Leipzig has only a capacity of about 60k, so it’s much too small for most of the Turkish-German fans.
ETA: well, anyway many of these fans will have traveled because Leipzig in the former region of the GDR, Saxonia, has less citizens of Turkish descent than West German cities of the same size, and there are also many Turkish fans at the Euro that are actually from Turkey (or other European countries).
Same here: one match that could be interesting, and it is streamed on damned Magenta, aka Deutsche Telekom, who knows how to make itself unpopular. Has been doing it for decades.
I wonder when this trend with firms that include “Deutsche” in their names turning out to be sure to be loathsome started. See Deutsche Bahn, Deutsche Telekom, Deutsche Bank, Deutsche Post for starters instead of a cite.
So please be my live ticker!
And if I had to choose, I’d rather root for Austria. But only half heartedly.

I can’t tell you the exact date for each institution, but the exact reason and the guilty party(ies): it began when they all got transferred to the private sector, and that all soon began under Helmut Kohl’s “geistig-moralischer Wende”. [/she]
I feared someone would write Deutsche Wehrmacht after I posted. OK, never mind…
Meanwhile, back to this thread: Little seems to be happening in Leipzig.
That actually looks pretty damn tasty. I like Spain, Switzerland, France, and Netherlands. But a Türkiye (damn hard to spell that in the new fashion…) upset wouldn’t be shocking. And Germany always wins, so that’s possible too.
England need a rethink quick. Rice can’t hold down the midfield by himself, and Foden looks way off it outside of the Man City system (not to mention Walker… oof).
I was about to say how it’s interesting how good they look given they don’t have any huge superstars on the team just 11 solid players, totally forgetting about Rodri.
Yamal, Pedri, and Williams are still potential stars at this point. Or maybe in the case of Pedri he’s a star when healthy.
