The last attempt by Embolo was the first shot on goal of the match. In the 51st minute…
ETA: and now in the 60th minute, the first corner. What a snoozefest.

When I tell people soccer is my favorite sport, I also tell them that even a 0-0 match can be incredibly exciting.
I hope none of them are watching this.
My club side had some unbelievably exciting matches this season. Maybe this is the universe’s way of saying I’ve had too much fun.
My club side (Borussia Mönchengladbach) had way too much terrible matches last season, but the typical scores were 4-4, 3-4 and the occasional 3-2, so at least those were exciting games.
My side got 98 points and promotion in 22/23 and 96 points and promotion again in 23/24. I’ve been totally spoilt, so wanting England to entertain is a bit greedy!!
Damn, that’s what England deserved for passivity!
Well that was a quick recovery!
I remember gruesome defeats in penalties for both England and Switzerland in the past. So will this shoot-out end in a 1-0?
Hey, what has become of England’s penalty kicks?
Kane is sitting!
Mostly kidding.
Is this the first time in history that England scored 5 of 5 penalties?
We scored 5/5 vs Germany in 96 but then some bloke called Gareth missed the 6th
Ah, of course I watched that game, but didn’t remember that this shoot-out went over five rounds.
Nice, England had a chance to shed their can’t-win-in-penalties burden in the Euro final against Italy years ago, now they may finally have shed it today.
Let’s go, Türkiye!
Can this be the second match in a row involving the Turkish squad that is not shown on free TV in Germany? And a quarter final at that? With the President Erdogan coming personally to Berlin to express his solidarity with the fascists Grey Wolfes and to rant against imperialist colonialist UEFA? (seriously, cite in Spanish)
Ah, well…
I know it’s hard, but for once switch to RTL.
I have no TV, I watch everything on my computer. And for live streaming they demand 6.99€ per month, which I will not pay.
OK, technically it is free TV, but not if you want to watch it on your computer. Germany’s general ignorance regarding things digital will never cease to amaze me. “Of course everybody watches TV on a TV set!” Well, actually… no. Many don’t.
When Brits say “Football’s coming home,” does it only count if they win a World Cup or would a Euro title mean “came home” as well?
If they win, do they change the lyrics to “football just came home?”
They had a chance to shed their can’t-win-in-penalties burden in Euro 96 after beating Spain on Pens in the QF. But as mentioned above Mr Southgate ruined that a couple of days later.
