Ugh. Is this what a diet feels like?

I’d recommend Fitday for journaling. It’s so much easier and I love seeing the reports. The only thing that’s irritating is that I eat Indian food so I have to manually add and guesstimate the caloric content for “1 chapati” or something. Otherwise it’s wonderful, I’m set until dinner which is when I generally add the stuff that isn’t on their list.

I have a question though…I’m trying to stick to 1200-1400 per day but I barely get over a 1000. Since I’m very active (they don’t have a category for elliptical so I just put “ski machine” which is the same…they estimate 500 calories burned for 5 miles on the ski machine), isn’t this a bad thing? How do you guys get up to your required minimum? I’ve been thinking of adding in some baked chicken in the mornings and afternoon.

I just restarted my exercise regimen again about 2 days ago…used to be very svelte but have chunked up a bit and I want to lose it. So it may just be that my body doesn’t feel like it needs 1200 right now…but I’m a bit worried.

Which - if this is typical for you and has been for months - is about right for a woman of your height with moderate activity who is trying to lose weight.

I’m about your height and at 1700 calories a day, no matter what they’re from (and I have a high aversion to vegetables and eat cheese like they’re about to stop making it), I’ll lose weight. It doesn’t leave me in the healthiest state, but I’ll still weigh less even when I’m completely couch potato-ing.

While you could do some better balancing of carbs/protein/fat, there may be another culprit. Especially with the history & the other symptoms.
