UK and US Driving Licenses

I have a full US driving license and a full UK driving license. I also have two passports. I was born in the US and my parents are both English.

The US system has no idea that I have a UK passport. I can be two different people when I am in the States.

I have three endorsements on my US license and if I get another one within the next 4 months, my license will be suspended. If I get pulled over and them my UK license, will they be able to work out that I have a US license?

The car that I drive is registered under a friend’s name at a specific address and that is the car in which I have been pulled over on each of the three occasions. If I was pulled over again, it would also be in that car.

The point really boils down to a question about the police computer system. When I give them my license and registration, what do they put into the system? Do they just put my license number? Do they put in the address? Presumably, if they only enter the license number, I would be clear. However, if the system had a way of cross-checking names, dates of births and registration addresses, they might be able to figure out that two apparently different people are, in fact, the same. Anyone have any answers? Are there any highway patrol dopers who wouldn’t mind helping to subvert the system?

[holier-than-thou hat ON] Hmmm…How about not driving like a jerk? It’s actually quite easy. Just follow the rules, relax and don’t speed. It IS possible. I haven’t been pulled over in 10 years, and I seem to always get where I need to go…funny that.[holier-than-thou hat OFF]
As for the OP, no, I doubt that the systems are connected. BUT, if you are pulled over and it is bad enough to require a court visit, they might run your name through the local system to see what you’ve done before…and THEN you could be screwed.

Take care-
